He was born in Chicago,IL Nov 09, 1924. To John and Edith Strubing, His wife the former Ann Feske, Survives
Also surviving are their six Children Romnald and Leo, both in Illinois, Evelyn Adamopolius, Sandra Clifton, Laura
Crews and Catherine all in Tennesssee and John in Massachusettes: three stepsons Dr. Thomas Thornton, and Robert Thornton
both of Upper Sandusky, Ohio and James Thornton Chebanse,IL. 25 Grandchildren a brother Frank of Holt Mich. and a sister Bernice Allision
Scottville ,Mich. Two brothers and two sisters are deceased.
A truck driver Mr. Dixon was retired after 25 years with U.S. Steel . A world War 2 veteran he was a paratrooper in the U.S. Marines
serving in Guam , Hiroshima, and Midway, and in the Korean Conflict. He was a former member of Local Teamsters 705.
A graveside service will be held at 10am Wednesday in Oak Hill Cemetery . Calling hours at Bringman and Co. Funeral Home.

Katherine Dixon was born Nov 22- 1907 in Chicago,IL. She grew up in Chicago and attended high Scool . She moved to South Custer area in 1940 and then Grand Rapids in 1959 after her retirement she moved to Scottville
She was married Nov 24, 1923 to Raymond A. Marcks he preceeded her in death in 1951
She was a manager at the Sara Lee Factory in Chicago before moving to Grand Rapids where she was the head of a cafateria at McInerney Spring and Wire. She later prepared food for United Airlines, and was a dietician for the Home for the Blind in Grand Rapids before retiring.
She attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints , Ludington. Surviving are one son Raymond A Marcks Jr. of Hastings ; two daughters Mrs Stanley (Patricia) Wilson of Chesterton,IND, and Mrs Harry (Marian) Picl of Lombard IL.; two brothers Frank Dixon of Holt and Richard Dixon of Ohio one sister .;Mrs Adrian(Bernice) Allison of Scottville, 11 grandchildren , several neices and nephews
The Funeral for Mrs Marcks will be conducted at 1pm Saturday at stephens Funeral Chapel , Scottville, Officiating will be Elder Robert Newman Internment will be at Riverside Cemetry Custer.
The family will be at the funeral chapel to recieve friends From 5 to 9pm today
