Isn't She Beautiful??

Here she is, the most beautiful, wonderful person I know. This picture was taken twenty years ago, probably the night I was conceived (it was my dad's 21st birthday party..you can imagine).

My mum rocks. She is so patient and understanding and giving and loving...all the things a good mother should be, and so much more. I can talk to her about anything, and I know that, no matter what, she will accept me for who I am. She's so sweet and naive, and I feel like I should protect her from the evils of the world. She laughs at me when we watch movies with any sex, because I always feel like she shouldn't be watching that. Then she reminds me that she has had two children, neither through acts of immaculate conception.

My mother has lived quite a life. She was a hippie. One of my favorite facts about my mother is that she had a cat names Cannabis. My sweet and naive mother...had a cat...named Cannabis. Now she has two parakeets, Baby and Mabel, and she has adopted Jared's Guinea pig, Slipknot and my hamster, Ralph. She is a wonderful grandma to the cats, and I know one day she'll be a great nana to my kids..SOMEDAY! All of my life I have been told that I bear a striking resemblance to her, which I now take as a compliment. She works very hard and puts up with a lot of crap from everyone. Although we have our disagreements, I totally respect her and love her with all of my heart and soul.
