Tribute to Michael
This page I dedicate to my late brother Michael!
He died of Aids on August 25th, 1995.
Michael was born on July 4th, 1962, Independence day! He was only 33 years old, when he was taken from us. Like most people he contracted the disease from sexual contact. Even though he battled the illness for quite a time, he never gave up on life. He lived it to the fullest, to the end. He never gave up hope or love for everybody, even for the person who gave it to him. I very much respect that, because knowing me I would hunt that person down and...well, use your imagination.
Anyways, I think it is very important that people realize how to get HIV, which later will turn into AIDS! As we all know you get it by having unprotected sex. So I urge everybody, protect yourselfs at all times as they say in Boxing. Even though a "Rubber" might not feel as good but it may save your life...isn't that a small price to pay to stay alive? Alot of times you can get it from Blood, so please be careful with that as well. If you in the Hospital you should be ok, but as we know not even there it is save anymore. My main cause though is, to make people understand to be careful when you choose a partner, it is a very important but sensitive subject...but if you really like someone and wanna be intimate I think you should be able to talk about it. Don't you agree? If you lost someone like me to this terrible disease, you'll understand the crusade I'm on. There are many diseases out there families have to deal with, and my heart goes out to all of them. Just make sure to be strong for you loved one(s) and keep them in your prayers, you will help so much with support, trust me.
I'm sorry if I'm babbling on and on about this, the words might not come out right either, but it's still very hard to even talk about this. Hopefully you'll understand! The most important thing you can do is...protect yourself!
Virtual Aids Quilt
Here you can view the Virtual Aids quilt, made by Famliy and Friends who lost someone close to them too. I think it's worth the trip.
