Let's See What We Can Stitch Up . . .
...*S*...
I would often times "help" Mom with sewing by finding the succeeding pieces to an article she was sewing at the moment. As time passed, my interest grew more intense to create clothing and crafts. When I entered junior high school, I participated in a Home Economics class and that was where I finally was able to allow my interest to flourish. We created many different articles of clothing and then began simple crafts.
Thru the years I kept sewing and creating....often making mistakes and learning from those, as everyone does in the paths of life. Well, once I graduated from high school and entered college, I continued to sew and enjoyed having so many different articles of clothing from which to choose. And, of course, at that age, all of your friends are "clothes crazy" too and they want to "borrow" everything you have! *S*
Well, after graduation from college and the "working world" began, I found it difficult to allot time to sew. But, as time wore on, I found a new interest in sewing....making crafts.
During the holidays I enjoy making tablecloths, napkins, placemats, pillows, and various holiday-appropriate items. It is always a challenge to create the "perfect craft" and there is such an inner sense of accomplishment obtained when you do.
Below you will find several links to assist your search and quest for information regarding sewing and craftmaking. If you find any links which are not active, please email me and inform me so that I can remove them. And, if you find any other valuable links, please let me know and I will be glad to add them to the list! There are several major pattern companies...McCall's, Simplicity, Vogue, Butterick...and many more. Each has their own particular way of instructions for creating items and a person must decide which they prefer. I hope you enjoy your stay and find some interesting links! ...*S*...
