Parents & Coaches of Little League
The #1 priority of baseball and softball should be the children having fun and learning the game. I have been involved in the sport, in one way or another, ever since I can remember. My little brother played baseball from the time of 6 years old till 13 years old and our dad coached him every year. I played a little softball during my school years (a long time ago...LOL). My oldest daughter played her 1st year of softball 3 years ago....I was just a fan that year. Me and my husband coached her the past 2 years and, through all these years of being involved in this sport, one thing has remained the same....most parents and coaches are competing with each other and being entirely too hard on the kids!! Not all parents and coaches are like this but most are. (My daughters coaches her 1st year were wonderful and me and my husband got our coaching ways from them!!!) Mine and my husbands goals as coaches have always been very simple...teach the girls the game and let them have fun!!! They are only children for a very short time!
Some care and most don't and usually those that don't charge the most!!!!1
I started substituting this year, ages 5 through 18 and I have a whole new for teachers. They do not get the respect or recognition they deserve and absolutely don't get paid enough money and neither do we.
Oh my goodness......where do I start? I love my job but it is hard. I have had teachers tell me my job is harder than theirs and I do believe it!!! One day I can be subbing 5 year olds and have 15 year olds the next day. The sad thing I have learned is how undisciplined most children are, especially the younger children. I have heard these kids saying words that would curl your toes. I had a first grader tell me to kiss his a$# and also had one ask me, "Do you give a shi*&?" These kids grow up!!!! Help them be better adults by starting now!!
