Life Without His Biggest
Fan
It was a sad sight for many to see
12 year old Harry walk behind his mother's casket in her 1997
funeral. It filled the public's heart with pain to see the white
roses at the front of the casket complete with a card that read
"Mummy" in "childish hand" (I would not say that since I am Harry's
age). I myself am good friends with Harry and sat a few rows behind
him at his mother's funeral. It was horrible to see the way he cried.
He put up a strong battle against tears in the publics view but when
inside the church and put the the cameras harsh view, he gave up. The
harsh tears began when Elton John sang "Candle in the Wind"
particularly when the words "Your candle burned out long before, your
legend ever will" were sung.
From my eyewitness account the
public is carrying on about the death of Princess Diana more then her
sons are. They are making Diana collectors items and there are still
news articles about the Princess. But her boys are getting on with
their lives, yet they still remember her. A few days ago I went to
Harry's apartment he shares with his brother in St. James's palace.
On the walls are family pictures of Diana and the boys and they have
a video library stocked with home videos. So of course they are not
forgetting her, but they are letting her go.
In the beginning months Harry was
very upset (he was the closest to his Mum). It came as a terrible
shock to him. His last memory of his beloved mother is waving happily
out the rear window of a car as he was on his way to Balmoral, his
summer home. He was very withdrawn when he arrived back at school and
his grades took a terrible plunge.Soon, his inner wounds began to
heal and you could see a smile on his face.
Now he has been attending football
matches with Dad and even went to see a cross-dressing comedian with
his father and brother! So for now Harry is quite back to his old
self. For the anniversary of the death of his Mum he will attend a
small memorial service at the church near Balmoral.
