A New Age, A New School

Yesterday, 15 September, Harry turned 14 years old. Two weeks ago, He started a new school, Eton. This is the place where you can read what Harry has to say about his new age and his new school.

3 weeks ago, Harry received word about his room number and class placements for the school he would soon be attending. That day was one of the happiest I've seen him all years. To Harry, a new school means starting over in some respects, he wants the public to forget about his Mum (although that doesn't seem likely) and let her live on in his and his brothers memories. One week later Harry, beaming, starts his first day at a new school and was even happy to pose for pictures. One week after that, Harry turns 14, and it wasn't at all like last year.

Harry's 13th birthday was not at all a happy one, It was three weeks after his hero, his Mum, was killed. At that time Harry would have rather have forgotten about his birthday all together. But it's been one year since then and like any teenager, Harry was happy and excited on his 14th birthday. He chose to spend his party with school mates from Eton, and Tudor Hall (my school), the girls school that is social with Eton. The party was held at St. James, Harry's London Home and consisted of good cake, great music, and a whole lot of laughs. Unlike last year, Harry did not mention the death of his Mum at all and concentrated on making that whole lot of us laugh until our sides ached. So for Harry, there were sad memories, but, for his party, he was living in the present. It certainly did show.

Harry's only been at Eton for a few weeks but from what he's told me, he's loving it already, like most any boy who attends. Although Eton has strict rules there is always time for fun and friends. Harry, who excels at sports, is thrilled with Eton's strong athletic programe. He loves playing football (soccer) every day. He also is glad to be with his brother, although tends to try and stay away from Will for most of the day because it's not considered cool to be hanging out with older brothers, should you have any at Eton. For right now, Harry seems to be having the time of his life at his new school, hopefully, things will remain that way.
