Butter Coffee Cake
1c butter
3c flour
1tsp salt
1 3/4c sugar
3tsp baking powder
Cream butter and sugar. Add flour,baking powder and salt.
Mix well and take out 1c for topping.
Add: 3 eggs,1tsp vanilla,1c milk
Mix well and pour into 9x12 greased pan.
Sprinkle the crumbs over the top of cake.
You may add alittle cinnaman.
Bake in 325 degree oven for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Drizzle powdered sugar frosting over top when cooked.
Mom's Meat Loaf
1lb ground beef
1/3c milk
1/4c katchup
1 onion,chopped
1 egg
1/2tsp salt
1/4tsp black pepper
3 slices bread,broken into pieces
2 strips uncooked bacon
Preheat oven to 425F. In a large bowl,combine ground beef,milk,ketchup,onion,egg,salt and pepper;mix well.
Add bread pieces;mix well. Pat mixture evenly in a 5 by 9" loaf pan. Top with bacon strips.
Bake for 45 to 60 minutes,or until no pink remains in the meat.
You also may stuff the meat loaf with ham if you wish just flatten it out on the counter top and lay sliced ham and swiss cheese on there then roll up and bake just like the regular meat loaf.
Scalloped Corn
1can whole corn,drained
1can cream-style corn
1c melted butter
1c sour cream
1T sugar
2 eggs,beaten
1 box Jiffy cornbread mix
Mix all ingredients together(execpt for the cornbread mix).
Stir together until blended.
Add 1 box of Jiffy cornbread mex on top.
Bake at 350F for 50 minutes,uncovered.
Do not double recipe.
Venison Stew
2lbs venison stew meat,1-inch cubes
Salt and pepper
3 stalks celery,cut diagonally in 1-inch pieces
1/2c chopped onion
2 cloves garlic,minced
1/2c water
1/2c dry red wine
8-oz can tomato sauce
1T chopped parsley
Salt and pepper venison cubes. Brown lightly in 2 tablespoons butter or oil. Put celery and onion in crockpot. Add browned meat cubes and remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on low 10-12 hours.(High:4-6 hours, stiring occasionally.) Serve over rice or buttered noodles.
