Here's an interview with Pack FM someone who is very worthy for Unsigned Rhyme Animal.
1. Where are you from?
Brooklyn NY, Born and Raised
2. How old are you?
22 or sumthin like that.
3. Who handles your production?
My main producer is Ope aka O*asiatic...for Ope Entertainment. We been at this for a while... He produces most of my tracks but I get stuff from other people...depending on the project. I'm workin on doing some things with MasterMinds, Stronghold *my hiphop cousins*, Scienz of Life etc. (I like it underground)
4. Who influenced you in the hip hop industry?
My main influence came from Common, and The Boot Camp Clik, Tribe Called Quest inspired me to write my first rhyme tho.
5. I've heard three of your songs: "The First Track", "Pack-Y-Stan" with Substantial and "Freestyle Marathon". They are all really great. Do you plan to release them when you release an album.
Yeah right now my LP (whutduzFMstand4??) is in the finishing stages to be released independantly (by Ope Entertainment) in Feb 2000. Freestyle Marathon is just a lil freestyle I did for a mixtape out in Connecticut. It's not gonna be found on the album.
6. Do you have any other rappers that you work with lots.
Yeah i got my producer O*Asiatic, my main crew Dominion which is Substanial, Mecca and my self, and we are also a part of a larger crew called The Plague which conists of Dominion, Hydra, O.B.S. (Pumpkinhead, Bad Seed, and MeatPie, Ocean (Natural Resources) DP One, BlowOut, Khamelyen...man the list goez on and on and on for days. The Plague is spreading
7. In "Pack-Y-Stan" you and Substantial talk a lot about battling over this dope beat. Do you really hate any one in this hip hop industry and who would you like to battle on the mic. I dont hate on anyone....and I'll battle anyone....battles are just fun 2 me. I;ve probably been in about 15 major battle tournaments in the past year and a half. I've won most but lost a few. Any MC can lose a battle at any given time, so I dont really go out pinpointing who I wanna battle cuz I gotta handle my bizness the same way regardless.
8. Have you shopped around to sign with any labels?
I aint really interested in any labels. If a deal comes around thats sweet I'll go for it...but I'm not in a rush 2 get "signed". I'm on an independant label right now Ope Entertainment thats good enuff for me right now.
9. Who would you like to work with?
Anyone who fits a song idea that I might have. Alotta MC's get 'collabo' happy and throw people on a track about nothing for no reason. If I'm gonna go out of my way to get someone on a track it wont be ya normal collabo or posse cut. I've recorded tracks with Substantial, Mecca, Invincible from the Anomolies, Pumpkinhead and more to come.
