Beastie Boys - Anthology The Sounds of Science
4.5 Turn Tables
Production: Beastie Boys, Scott Jarvis, Rick Rubin, Dust Brothers, Mario Caldato Jr., Fatboy Slim
Featured Artists: Q-Tip, Biz Markie, Fatboy Slim
The Beastie Boys have put out their share of work of LP's, EP's, and a whole lot of singles. After putting in work since the early 80's the Beastie Boys have a whole lot of classic material. From their earlier material ("Fight For Your Right") to newer ("Alive"). The Beastie Boys are pretty much the first white act in Hip Hop. They are also well respected by the Hip Hop Community.
Anthology Sounds of Science comes with a very good look at the career of the Beastie Boys. They pretty much come with a very good looking 42 track 2-CD album that features a write up on every track. The Beastie Boys come with a unique style that is displayed nicely on two tracks "Alive" and "Intergalactic". "Sabotage" and "Beastie Boys" show their punk influence. The Beastie Boys even take time to show off the skills of Mix Master Mike on "Three MC's And One DJ". You'll even get two of Country Mike's country songs. Q-Tip comes aboard for the incredible hot potato mic fest on "Get It Together". You'll also get classics like "Sure Shot", "Bodhisativa View", "Jimmy James","Brass Monkey" and many others.
Overall the Beastie Boys have came out looking pretty cool and are still going pretty strong. They have always kept it real and came with their own sound, which is the way to do it.
