Lil' Kim has made a name for herself rhyming first with Junior M.A.F.I.A. where she was featured on the best song "Player's Anthem", which became a huge hit. Then Hardcore, her solo debut solidified her as the Queen Bitch of the Hip Hop industry. There are many females who have copied her style of rhyming.
The Notorious KIM is a tribute to her friend Notorious BIG, who she got along with very good. She includes a tribute song called "Hold On" with Mary J. Blige singing the hook, which works pretty nicely. She has a few songs on here that are strictly for the party crowd like "No Matter What They Say" and the title track produced by Rockwilder one of his worst beats to date. The album also features another court case with "Lil' Drummer Boy", this doesn't work like "State Vs. Kirk Jones", but it still is a nice track. The best cut is the track with her crew Junior M.A.F.I.A. "Do What You Like" where they tell people to do what they want with their life. Lil' Kim's newest disc has it's good moments, but it has too many bad ones with poor production. And without the great production Lil' Kim isn't the best mc in the world. She does have some good rhymes, but some of the beats just don't work with her.
Overall Notorious KIM is a good dedication to Notorious BIG, but Hardcore was a more consistent album. Lil' Kim has enough hits on here to sell many albums though.
