Too bad, it did!!!

No, the world did *not* come to an end on May 18.
The Y2K bug will not come to bug everyone on May 18.
There weren't any New Year Eve parties the night before May 18.

Instead, all obsessed-enough fans of a certain band will held one huge party.
There, everyone was pretty antsy.
They were fumbling for enough money with one hand and clutching their CD players with their other.

They spent the night thinking about these guys.....

(no, they're not as scary as they look... wait, you think they're scary?  Noooo!)

'cause......

The new Backstreet Boys album,

came out on May 18!!!

Guess who's went to get it?  :)

Noooo, not DB!!!!

Noooo, not Mousey either!

Sheesh, c'mon, keep guessing!!!

It's not that hard, y'know!

MAY 7, 1999...........

I'm really, really looking forward to this album like you wouldn't believe.  Just like all the other 7468916758972639567392165973289674895079878678926969871469863793251000217465 BSB fans in the world, eh?

I bet most reasons are like, "Well, this is their first album in the longest time so..." or "I love the Backstreet Boys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  *piercing scream*" (this one barely answers the question actually!).

I'm not sure how many people have my reason.  Y'know how they've said time and time again that this album's gonna be different?  That it's a little "edgier, harder" (Howie in Rolling Stone) and yet, it still shows how they've grown.  In light of the extremely-provocative Rolling Stone article, I have this feeling that the album parallels the article in the sense that it's something the typical BSB fan isn't gonna expect.  Recall the tracks on their previous 2 albums - ballads or bubble-gum dance-pop.  This isn't to say that I absolutely loathed their first 2 albums.  Au contraire.  I loved it - I mean, hey, it's dance-driven (a lot of it) and I am sooo there!  But I think that I'm already liking the fact that this is apparently a more serious album.

And while I'm seriously wondering how many superficial teenybopper fans ran away screaming at the top of their frigging lungs after reading the Rolling Stone article, I wonder how many superficial teenybopper fans are gonna be burning Millennium after realizing that....

the Boys have grown up.
