"Deterioration Photos"
Hidden treasures in her attic
Unopened chests unlocked again
Blowing off the cobwebs of unforgotten times
Collections of dust balls gathered throughout the years

Black and white photos found upside down
Memories of events form the past
Uncovered revealed one more time
Gold picture frames like brand new
Rusty brown and worn down today
Fragile old hands clear away the dust

Memory lane waltz's in her mind
Night at the lake
Senior Prom
First kiss
Honeymoon in the barn
Dancing under the stars
World War II

Old photos that have faded from her mind
Brought back imagines of forgotten times
Smiles and tears come over her face
Saddened that she misses him
Saddened that he left her
Saddened that he had to die

* Posted by greg on June 02, 1999 - Your work reads like a sad, sad melody played over and over again. Old photos can indeed play havoc upon our aching souls and you have captured it perfectly. I felt as if I were actually there, LEE WONDERFUL, imagery!!!!! greg
