My Homelife!
Well, you clicked on my homelife, so here goes:
It's been about 10 years since my friend John and I created this website. A LOT has happened in those 10 years. I went to college, quit college, moved back home, met a girl, asked the girl out, asked the girl to marry me, got married, and had some children. That's it. Hope you enjoyed reading about me.
For anyone out there in the world who wants to know what has happened in my homelife the past few years, I guess I will fill you in now. Condensed version, of course, I don't want to be typing all night.
Throughout 2004, my life basically consisted of having a shitty shift at work. I'd work two days out of the week, and then go in Friday and Saturday night, and work 12 a.m. to 12 p.m. Yup, 12 hours. Anyone who has ever worked 12 hours, it isn't fun. Especially doing it EVERY WEEKEND. None off, unless you have someone there who can swap with you. But not too many would be willing to do it.
The year was also spent with my family. Our daughter was getting bigger. We found out she had to get glasses. Her eyes are kind of lazy-eyed. But with glasses it helps her eyes to stay focused and straight. My wife received some devastating news. Her mother was diagnosed with cancer in her liver, and a few other places. This after her mother was successful with getting rid of her breast cancer that had struck the year before.
And of course, anyone who knows me, It was another unsuccessful year for my weight loss. I continued overeating and staying right where I was the year before. Around 330 pounds. Whenever I'd think something worked, it would last a few weeks, then I'd go right back up to where I was before starting the new thing.
2005 was mostly the same as 2004. I still had the shitty shift at work, my daughter continued growing and getting bigger. We went on camping trips, also went to water parks, and a few concerts.
Perhaps one of the best things to happen that year was that I started reading again. I've always loved to read, but I stopped when I got out of school. My neice brought some books over, and I started reading again. One of the many books I read throughout 2005 just happened to be Dr. Phil's weight loss book. I read it, and applied many of his techniques to my life. It worked. I've been able to lose many, many pounds. If you feel so inclined as to read more about that, I have my website on food. Man I'm such a loser. :(
2006 was filled with some happiness, and also some sadness unfortunately.
In late 2005 we got some pretty great news. My wife was pregnant with our second child! We had wanted a second baby, so started having the fun of making that child, and within a few months, it happened. In February, during the ultrasound, the doctor informed us that "he" was doing pretty good. So we found out it was going to be a boy! One of each. Pretty cool!
My weightloss continued. But with it came gallbladder problems. Anyone who's ever had gallstones can relate. Every couple of weeks I'd be in really bad pain. It would last anywhere from a few hours to a few days. Sucked big time! In October, I had my gallbladder taken out. Since then, I've been feeling pretty good. Also, the shitty shift at work ended. I now worked a Monday - Friday shift. It was the night shift, but it beat the hell out of weekends.
Now for the sadness. My mother-in-law kept getting worse. Cancer kept showing up in other places in her body. In September there was some hope. She was having a surgery to stop the tumors in her brain from growing. But a few weeks later she got really bad, sepsis set in, and it was only a matter of time. She died near the end of October. She was only 49 years old. My wife has been doing pretty good, considering. We all miss her very much though. She was a very brave and strong woman, not just because of having cancer, but how she dealt with it. She always stayed positive and full of hope. Certainly a remarkable woman.
2007. I realize I've been out of highschool for 10 years now. I'm in my late 20's now. I'm currently employed as a startup technician. My daughter is 4 years old, and my son turns 10 months old tomorrow. Things are going pretty good. I own my own house(with mortgage payments, ugh), have two cars(one's a clunker though, lol) But I'm basically happy. I also have great friends, as well as an awesome family.
Well, that pretty much sums things up. Thanks for reading! Maybe it won't be 4 years before my next update. Then again, maybe it will. ;)
