I attended Air Force basic training in Lackland AFB, Texas in September 1981. After I graduated from basic training I headed for Lowry AFB, Colorado for my technical schooling as a Weapons System Specialist from November 1981 through January 1982. From January 1982 to February 1984 I was assigned to the 50th Aircraft Generation Squadron (AGS) in Hahn AB, Germany where I worked on F-16 Fighting Falcon. While I was there I got to travel to England, France, Spain, Turkey and of course all over Germany. Germany is a beautiful country with lots of beautiful sites. From February 1984 to February 1987 I was reassigned to the 363 AGS in Shaw AFB, South Carolina where I continued working on the F-16. While I was assigned there I went on Temporary Duty (TDY) to Bodo, Norway. After my tour in Shaw I headed for home, Guam! I got assigned to the 43rd Munitions Maintenance Squadron (MMS) where I worked on the B-52 Stratofortress bomber from February 1987 to April 1989. It was great to be home again. Guam is a gorgeous island with lots of fiestas going on every week-end. It was great to see my family again! From there I was reassigned to Kelly AFB, Texas from April 1989 to June 1994. Kelly AFB is located in San Antonio, Texas. San Antonio is a growing city where I got to see the Alamo Dome and Six Flags Fiesta Texas amusement park go up.
From Texas I was reassigned back to Guam for another tour of duty of 15 months where I was assigned to the 36th Maintenance Squadron (MXS) as the Vehicle Control Non Commission Officer (NCO) for the squadron. After my short tour there I headed for my present assignment to Mountain AFB, Idaho, where I got assigned to the 390th Fighter Squadron Wild Boars. As a Load Crew Chief for a weapons loadcrew I had a chance to deploy to a couple of places in Europe. First deployment was Incirlik AB, Turkey where we were deployed for three months. We were there to enforce the No-Fly-Zone for Operation Provide Comfort (OPC) from July-October 96. If you like buying Gold, Silver, and Brass Turkey was the place to do it. My next deployment was Sheikh Isa AB, Bahrain on September-October 97. While there we made history by doing the first ever in Air Force history Operation Readiness Inspection (ORI) done in a combat zone. We did a outstanding job and made a place in history. Also I had the opportunity to meet a friend of mine who was my personal tour guide when I was in downtown Manama, Bahrain to visit. It made my stay enjoyable while being deployed there. Thanks Marivic, Lulu, Jun, and everybody else for everything and your hospitality. After coming back from my deployment and I was given an assignment to Osan AB, Korea. I arrive in Osan AB on March 1998 where I was assigned to the 25th Fighter Squadron. Let me tell you all, if you like shopping for anything that is the place to go. After my tour of duty from Korea, I was reassigned to Minot AFB, N. Dakota on April 1999, where I got assigned to the 23rd Bomb Squadron. Minot featured the opening of the new club JR Rockers where I got involved with their Karaoke nights and met a very outstanding waitress (Amy W.). Amy you were always been good to me, thanks for everything. From here I retired from the Air Force in October 2001 and relocated to Warner Robins, Georgia where I am currently working for Wal-Mart Return Center 9194 in Macon who I met a very awesome friend on second shift and you know who I'm talking about if you are reading this(Di). What do you think about it so far Di? Don't forget to sign my guest book.
