True Love

A longing to be accepted, to be understood.
A feeling of belonging, a sense of security.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

She had no money for flowers,
no money for candy or gold.
Only the love that she held in her heart,
was the truth she told.
I wish I had more to offer you on this Valentines Day
A kiss on the cheek to her boys so sweet,
more than words can convey.

That's alright Mom we love you,
her children said with cheer.
They went off to play,
as it was their way.
She said man, what am I doin' here.

I had dreams of being successful.
I had dreams of lasting love.
Well, at least we're not out on the street,
for that I thank God above.

She looked out in garden,
Watchin' her children play.
Reflecting on life,
and her time as a wife.
Wishing things didn't end this way.

But it occurred to her in an instant
almost a blinding flash.
Success she believed she had
honestly achieved.
And she out loud she did laugh.

Not all things are measure
with money
or by the neighbors hand.
But by with the love
from God above
on His truth I will stand.

The love that will last forever.
The love she holds so dear.
She has blessed.
She did confess.
Her hand wiping away a tear.

Her boy so happy and healthy.
Not knowing they were poor.
But in love they were rich,
And many would switch,
For there's nothin' you could want more.

And I wish you all the blessings
On this Valentines Day
And the love of friends and family
True spoils of life in everyway.
