Microwavable  Desserts

                                              Puppy  Chow
1 stick butter
12 oz. chocolate chips
1 to 2 cups confectioners sugar
1/2 cup peanut butter
8 cups rice chex
Melt butter, peanut butter, and chips in a 1 3/4 qt. bowl 2 to 3 minutes at 50% power.  Dump cereal into large bowl.  Pour in chocolate.  Stir gently to mix.  Dust with powdered sugar just to coat cereal.  Store in air tight container.
 
 

                                           Two  Dollar  Dessert
1 can pie filling ( apple cherry, etc...)
1 box jiffy dry cake mix  ( yellow for the apple pie filling.. white with the cherry for if you use chocolate with cherry, you tend to have a green cake ;o)  which is great for St. Patrick's Day)
several small pats of butter or margarine ( i use country crock)

Empty the pie filling out in a microwavable dish that has a lid.. layer the dry jiffy cake mix on top, making it even all around..  lay small pats of butter or margarine around the entire top of the cake. place the lid onto the dish.  Place in microwave for 10 minutes on high, letting it stand for 5 minutes afterwards.

                                            Peppermint Bark
1 lb. almond bark                                  1 pkg. (7oz. ) peppermint candy

Break bark into pieces and place in 3 quart bowl.  Microwave at 50% power for approximately 5-6 minutes until pieces are soft.  Stir after 3 minutes.  While bark is melting , process candy in food processor until it is a fine powder.  Add candy to melted bark and stir well.  Spread on parchment paper 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick.  Cool in refrigerator until hard,  Break into pieces.  Freezes well.
 

                                               Tingly  Candy
1pkg. (6oz.) butterscotch chips                       4 cups rice crispy cereal
1pkg. (6oz.)chocolate chips

In quart bowl microwave chips at 50% power for 4-6 minutes stirring after 3 minutes.  Add cereal, stirring well.  Drop by teaspoon to parchment paper.  Cool until set.  Freezes well.
