Medicinal marijuana is not a very bright idea. I'm sure there are many people it helps. However, this spawns new ways for almost anyone who wants a joint to get their hands on one. Only this time, they can have it legally.
Military Conflict
I'm all for the military and military action. I.e. I'm not a pacifist. I think that the military is a way of flexing US muscle and is what has kept us from ever being attacked since 1941. Which, for the record, was avenged.
Political Mudslinging
In my opinion, I think that mudslinging can be, at times, more of a hurt to candidates than a help. It is very unprofessional, yet it can be a deciding factor in an election. Yes, it can bring to light many blemishes on a candidate's record, but I think Its bad practice.
Politics
Politics in America are at an all time low. I think that politicians should view their jobs just as they are, lawmakers, law enforcers, representatives, and dignitaries. Not newsmakers or romancers. I think politics should not be so dirty. It is a waste of our tax money to pay for many of our elected officials, and even a bigger waste to pay for the things that they support.
President Clinton
Personally, I don't really like Clinton. I never have. But recently, I have been asked my opinion on the Monica Lewinski scandal. My answer is simple. I disagree with the president's morals (or lack therof), but that is not a matter of national importance. I think after Clinton is in his 8th year of office, between Whitewater to Paula Jones, the Draft Dodge to Not Inhaling, the American public already has a strong grasp on Clinton's character.
Puerto Rico
I think it would be a novel idea to let Puerto Rico in as a state. I mean, for years it has unofficialy been our 51st state anyway. I'm all for the idea. First things first, though. We should poll Puerto Rico and see how much favor is behind statehood. This is because that I have heard that the Puerto Ricans do not want to join the USA. If they do not want to be Americans, we should not force them.
Ramsey, Jon Benet
I have not kept abrest with the latest news in this case. The most prominent reason for that is because I find it irratating that hundreds of children are murdered yearly, yet this case got publicity because the Ramseys were rich and Jon Benet had been in many talent shows. To put it simply, her mother did it. The best evidence I have is that the letter recieved by the family used uncommon slang words Mrs. Ramsey frequently used.
Religion in School
The best policy for religion in school is to let it be optional. I am against forcing religion on children that do not want it. Yet on the other hand, I don't believe that kids should not be offered to learn religion. In some schools, religion is almost a taboo subject that should not be mention in the school. I think that is wrong.
