The Young Herdercraft Gets Burgled.

Derek opens the door and comes into the office.

Aeia stands up. "Hello.... May I help you?"

Aeia drops Beastcraft Ledger.

Derek looks at Aeia and says nothing.

Aeia looks a little warily at Derek.

Derek glances around.

Aeia says, "Can I... help you?"

Derek pulls a concealed knife out of is sleeve.

Derek says, "Yeah, you can give me that chain on your neck."

Aeia starts. "Not again," she says quietly as she backs away.

Aeia says, "Wh-Why?"

Derek says, "Just give it to me."

Aeia says, "Who are you? Are you a friend of Rowen's? Why is she doing this?"

Aeia backs away.

Derek moves closer to Aeia.

Derek says, "Just give me the chain."

Aeia reluctantly removes the chain from her neck.

Aeia tosses the chain across the floor, so it lands behind Derek.

Aeia drops a simple chain.

Derek maintains eye contact with Aeia.

Aeia bites her lip.

Derek backs up until he is in front of the chain.

Aeia says, "Why are you doing this?"

Derek readies the knife as if he is about to throw it, and slowly bends his knees, maintaining eye contact.

Aeia realizes there is nothing she can do, and remains still.

Derek feels around on the floor until he locates the chain.

Derek picks up a simple chain.

Derek stands up again.

/Derek cannot open the safe; the lock is stubborn/

Derek tosses the chain to Aeia. "Open the safe."

Aeia says, "And if I refuse?"

Derek says, "Now why would you do a stupid thing like that?"

Aeia says, "I do stupid things sometimes... What would you do, kill me?"

Derek says, "Possibly. But there are some things that can be quite a bit more. .. inconvenient than death."

Aeia pales but doesn't say anything. She searches Derek's face, trying to see if he'd really do anything to her.

Derek says, "And I will do it, too."

Aeia hesitates.

Derek keeping the knife readied, glances down at Aeia's fingers.

Aeia draws her hands close to herself and turns to the safe.

Aeia unlocks and opens Beastcraft Safe.

Aeia steps back.

Derek withdraws 11 marks from Beastcraft Safe.

Aeia pales.

Aeia's hand moves to her side as if she just remembered something.

Derek looks at Aeia and keeps his knife pointed at her.

Aeia glances down at the desk.

Derek says, "Well, it was certainly a pleasure dealing with you, and I'm glad I didn't have to hurt you. . . I really prefer it this way."

Derek begins to back towards the door.

With her left hand, Aeia flings the ledger at Derek, drawing her utility knife with the right. "Not so easy..."

Derek shakes his head.

Aeia lunges at Derek,

Derek dodges Aeia, and swipes at her with his knife, narrowly missing.

Aeia swipes at Derek with the ungainly knife, hoping to catch on something.

Derek jumps back, Aeia's knife cutting his tunic, but not him.

Aeia goes a little off-balance from over-extending herself.

Derek uses the opportunity and swipes at Aeia's shoulder

Aeia cries out at pain sears through her left arm.

Aeia staggers a little, but strikes out again.

Derek looks momentarily surprised as Aeia's knife cuts his forehead lightly, but enough to draw blood.

Derek regains his composure and thrusts forward at Aeia

Aeia glances down at her arm, not seeing the thrust until too late.

Derek draws his knife back after connecting with Aeia's other shoulder.

Aeia cries out and falls.

Aeia drops her knife.

Derek grabs Aeia's knife.

Derek looks down at Aeia.

Aeia tries to hold herself up from the floor, but both arms are screaming in pain.

Derek says, "I hope I didn't hurt you too badly. I'm not going to kill you, but I'd advise you to be more cautious in the future."

Aeia is unable to respond.

Derek looks down at Aeia. "I would send for help, but I'm in no position to. I'm sure you'll be fine though."

Derek says, "Again, I would have preferred to avoid conflict, but..."

Derek slowly backs out of the door.

Aeia bites her lip and stares back at him, not believing him.

Derek leaves the office.

Aeia pushes herself to a sitting position, tears beginning to stream down her cheeks.

Aeia tries to move towards the door, but she doesn't have the strength.

In The Main Barn:> Caitlin comes through the archway from the main entrance.

In The Main Barn:> Caitlin says, "Aeia?"

Aeia says softly, "Caitlin...?"

Caitlin kneels down "we need to get her to the infirmary now!!

Rinian says, "Aeia, are you ok?"

Rinian nods.

Aeia's face is streaked with tears. "They robbed me, Rinian..."

Viatus opens the door and comes into the office.

Caitlin rips the base of her tunic to make a bandage

Aeia is shaking.

Caitlin says, "hush... relax"

Viatus calls to Auram, who flies over and lands on his shoulder.

Viatus rushes next to Caitlin, "How can I help?"

Caitlin wraps the bandage around Aeia's arm, applying pressure

Caitlin says, "We need to get her to the infirmary..."

Viatus nods, "Well, let's get here there, then..."

Caitlin helps Aeia stand, "lean on me" She shifts so that she is still applyign pressure to the wound

Aeia allows herself to be lifted to her feet, gasping.

Aeia says, "Aaah!"

Aeia's legs wobble.

Caitlin says, "this way..."

Aeia leans on Caitlin.

Caitlin ignores the dead body and motions for Viatus to put Aeia on the table

Caitlin pulls open the cupboard and drips something into a glass

Caitlin hands the glass to Aeia "drink this.. it will help the pain

Caitlin rinses her hands in redwort and inspects the damage

Aeia nods weakly and tries to close her hand around the cup.

Viatus says, "What happened, Aeia?"

Caitlin helps Aeia drink "its fellis.. it will make you sleep

Caitlin gently cleans the wound

Aeia takes a deep breath. "A man...came into the office. He made...me open the safe...took my money...all that I've made...so far..."

Caitlin whispers, "ok. you shall have stitches"

Aeia puts the cup to her lips and drinks.

Caitlin takes out a needle and waits for the fellis to work

Rinian has arrived.

Aeia sags back onto the table. "I...tried to...stop him..."

Caitlin says, "shh.. sleep now... all will be well"

Aeia's eyes flutter. "Twice...in...one...day," she says softly.

Caitlin begins to sew, small neat stitches

Aeia's eyes close.

Viatus sighs, "Rinian, I want no one in or out of the Hold without someone going over them twice."

Rinian says, "Yes, sir."

Viatus says, "Including the smithcraft, and the beastcraft."

Viatus says, "No one gets in, unless they have to be here."

Rinian nods.

Rinian says, "I will go set that up, anything else?"

Viatus says, "Not at the moment no. "Wait.""

Caitlin finishes the stitches and reaches for the bandages, wrapping the wound tightly

Viatus points to Norig's body. "Recognize him, we found him on the trail, and Khyrienne seems to be missing too..."

Rinian looks at the body carefully but shakes her head. "No, I haven't seen him before. Do you want me to look for her?"

Caitlin carefully cuts open Aeia's shirt at the shoulder and winces as she sees the other wound

Viatus says, "Secure the Hold first, make sure no one can get in or out, then search every inch of it."

Rinian nods. "Yes, sir."

Caitlin cleans the shoulder wound and begins to sew it closed

Caitlin says, "Viatus...."

Caitlin she finishes quickly, bandaging that one as well. Next she moves on to the small cuts, just cleanign them

Caitlin asks in a tight voice "How many died today?

Rinian leaves for the back hall.

Viatus says, "Two we know of, no one from the Hold though, but we have two missing it seems..."

Caitlin slathers numbweed on the rest of Aeia's wounds and covers her with a blanket

Caitlin says, "get a guard to get that.. body.. out of here..."

Caitlin winces as Viatus mentions 2 missing

Caitlin sits wearily

Caitlin says, "I'll stay here with Aeia... go and find them Viatus!!! Find Brenna!"

Caitlin starts to fall asleep on the stool, slowly nodding off
