She walks in beauty She walks in beauty, like the night Of cloudless climes and starry skies; And all that's best of dark and bright Meet in her aspect and her eyes: Thus mellowed to that tender light Which heaven to gaudy day denies. One shade the more, one ray the less, Had half impaired the nameless grace Which waves in every raven tress, Or softly lightens o'er her face; Where thoughts serenely sweet express How pure, how dear their dwelling place. And on that cheek, and o'er that brow, So soft, so calm, yet eloquent, The smiles that win, the tints that glow, But tell the days in goodness spent, A mind at peace with all below, A heart whose love is innocent! Lord Byron

This page is for all the hopeless romantics out there, myself included. I hope to put on this page poetry, quotes, and with a little help from all of the other hopeless romantics out there, your thoughts on what is romantic. If you have a great story on how you met the love of your life and would like to share it with others, or have any thoughts on the topic of love and romance that you would like to share, please email them to me. Thanks.

The Gift Of Lasting Love Love is much more than a tender caress And more than bright hours of happiness. For a lasting love is made up of sharing Both hours that are "joyous" and also "despairing"... It's made up of patience and deep understanding And never of selfish and stubborn demanding, It's made up of "Climbing the steep hills together" And facing with courage "Life's stormiest weather"... And nothing on earth or in heaven can part A love that has grown to be part of the heart, And just like the sun and the stars and the sea, This love will go on through Eternity. For "true love" lives on when earthly things die, For it's part of the Spirit that soars to the "Sky". Helen Steiner Rice

The following poem was written by my sister. Thanks sis for letting me put it up to share with others!

          What Is Love?

          Love is that condition
          in which someone else's happiness
is essential to your own. When silences are comfortable, And understandings can be reached
without saying a word. It's when your eyes have learned to smile; And that smile reaches your heart. It's when someone cares for you, and not about you: Cares so much that they tell you
what you need to hear, Not what you want to hear. When you want to protect someone from the world, from life, from you, from themselves. When you want to share in their laughter. When you want to cry their tears. When you want to chase away their nightmares, And make all their dreams come true. It's not putting someone on a pedestal. It's seeing them for who they are. And loving them anyways. When you see your future,
not in gazing at each other; But in looking outwards in the same direction... Chances are you love someone.

The following poem was written by my brother. Thanks Jason for letting me put it up to share with others!

I Will I will be your Knight in Shining Armour, I will be the light of each day. I will be there whenever you need me. I will never go away. I will hold you tight and keep you warm, I will keep you close to my heart. I will love you until my life is through; I have loved you from the start. From the moment I first looked in your eyes, I knew I was no longer lost. And I will fulfill all promises. I will, at any cost.

The following poem was written by my brother's girlfriend. Thanks Jason for letting me put up her poem to share with others!

Yes, I Know You Yes, I know you. I always have. Long before my legs could carry me Long before my first life test Long before my body began shaping Long before my first kiss. You are love. And I know you. People spend lifetimes searching Believing love to be an "it" Love, my dear, is you a person. Discovering a heart to believe in. Yes, I know you. You are Respect and Faith. You are Honor and Trust. You are my guiding light. You are the reason we have "us" Yes, I know you. And I want you before all else. And I need you near to quiet my fears. To shape me as imperfectly perfect as you I love you. I always have...
          ~Theresa Brooke Blankenship

The following poem was written by a very special friend that I have met online named Shannon. Thank you Shannon for sending in this poem for me to put up and share with others. You're one in a million!

The Greatest Miracle In The World I once thought true happines a myth, a lie, The longer I lived, the more I cried. The list of mistakes was long and old, The heart in my breast felt weak and cold. The light of love had long burnt out. Alone in the darkness I fumbled about, For one small shred of the self I knew. Then out of the hopeless void, came you. With precious words, you touched my soul. Near and far, you made me whole. Tenderly, you opened my heart to rejoice, Gently, you gave hope a powerful voice. Suddenly, the lonely darkness was gone, And you, my friend, have become my dawn. By giving me strength I never knew, The Greatest Miracle In The World, is you.. Dedicated to EVERYONE who has touched my life,
          so profoundly, so warmly..
          ~Shannon
