University Stuff
Well I just graduated from the University of Winnipeg with a B.Sc. in biology. Besides the regular bio courses, I took some chem, pysch, philosophy, math, sociology, english, computer, physical activity and sport study, statistic, and geography courses. I honestly don't regret taking any course (I do regret taking some profs though) If any of you are thinking of going to U of W don't hesitate to ask what profs and courses are good to take!
Through out my three years at the U of W I was involved with the MSA there. It was interesting during my first year there because we pretty much had to start from scratch in forming the MSA. A few years back the U of W MSA was a very active group, but it died down since not many Muslims went there anymore. But man when we started it up we had a blast cause it was just the boyz!! We didn’t have any of those ‘sister-brother’ problems, or ‘why don’t the undergrad students participate’ or why is it all the ‘Graduate students are MSA’. See at U of W we did what we wanted to do and we didn’t care what others thought and that was fun. Two years ago we had this kick azz Islam Awareness Week!
Undergrad is really getting boring now, and I would very much like to get into something next year, so please remember me in your duaas. Although I 'm getten sick of undergrad, I gotta admit that its interesting when you can Islamsize the stuff you learn. Because my undergrad was bio, I really wanted to understand the scientific aspect of Islam. Here's a quote from Haijya B. Lemu in her book "A Critical Look at the Theory of Evolution" that I found motivating
