Seattle Sights

Seattle is such a beautiful place to live. From the Pacific Ocean just 2 hours to the west, to Mount Rainier, Seattle Center, Puget Sound. There is always something to do, someplace to go. Just be sure you have a good supply of espresso to keep you going!

Mount Rainier is visible from just about anywhere in the Seattle area. At over 14,000 feet, it towers over the Puget Sound area, providing a recreation area, beautiful scenery, and most of our water supply.

Another local landmark is the Space Needle. Built in the 1960's for the Seattle World's Fair, it continues to be a favorite spot for out of town visitors and locals alike.

Our local professional sports teams, the Seattle Mariners and Seattle Seahawks keep us entertained and in suspense for most of the season.

Ocean Shores is one of the favorite vacation spots in the Puget Sound area.

Kite flying, for pleasure or competition, is a favorite pastime at the beach.

Our Hometowns

Gig Harbor
Gig Harbor is located Southwest of Seattle. Sue is from Tacoma originally, but moved to the Harbor at age 7. It's a quaint little fishing village, a suburb of both Bremerton and Tacoma.

Access to the Harbor is by the Narrows Bridge, which fell and was rebuilt in the 1940's.

Tacoma
Scotty was raised in Tacoma, just northeast of Gig Harbor. Tacoma has earned a reputation for crime and violence in the past few years, but it still has some great sights and historical areas to visit.

The Seattle area has provided many pioneers in the music industry, including Jimi Hendrix and Kurt Cobain of Nirvana.
