Links Page

Here's an incomplete list of favourite sites of mine, why not check 'em out!

The Invisible Band Home Page - Very excellent, nicely put together site. Then again I would say that, as Rory (the site's owner) upgraded my pc for me and has v. kindly helped sort out bits and pieces to do with it on numerous occasions. Has a few mp3 audio files and fantasy stories too along with
links to other sites you may find of interest.

The CARF Home Page - Another good site to check out. One to look at if your interested in anti-racism in the UK and the rest of Europe. Contains quite a few useful links too.

The BBC Windrush Page - Excellent selection of photos and articles on the legacy of one of the defining events of postwar Britain. I found it informative, surprising, and in places, quite moving. See what you think.

St. Lucia Homepage - Lovely site dedicated to the island
in the Caribbean they call "The Helen Of The West". Lots
of interesting facts, figures and photos.

Black Britain Online - I have to thank my niece Charlene for me finding this site. An Aladdin's cave of information regarding black culture, politics, sports, history and arts within the U.K. to access.

Yush! - Informative and entertaining magazine on all things trendy
and street, along with some hard-hitting articles thrown in too.

Dancehall Reggae Productions - Another site I found thanks to my niece. Interviews and Real Media links to be found and clicked on featuring the
big cheeses of the dancehall scene in Jamaica, the U.S./U.K. and elsewhere.

The Official Notting Hill Carnival Homepage - Having logged onto various festival "what's on" sites in the past (you'll find a few of the best ones I've found on this page), I was disappointed to find virtually no links to sites dedicated to Europe's largest annual street festival. Well, I hope I'd like to think that I've rectified that a little. As the title suggests, there's a street map, a do's and don't's list, along with all the info you'll want for enjoying yourself, whether you go there on Sunday or Monday.

The Groove Network  - If you're into funk, jazz, fusion and want to find a
site giving you good info on the best of the new urban pop, then
do have a gawp at this page (thanks for the tip, Annie!).

My Name is Jolly  - A website showcasing the work of a couple I know
called Jairo and Nicoela. Nice and varied selection of artwork/photos
past and present to check out there.

The Harry Potter Fan Site - If you know your Muggles from your Hogwarts, and dream of beating petrol queues by getting around town on a Nimbus
2000 (or a Firebolt, if you're posey like that), then check out the page
dedicated to J.K. Rowling's celebrated schoolboy wizard.

The Official Harry Potter Homepage () - Special thanks to young Robert who comes into the kids' section of the South Library, Islington for giving me this link. Has preview pics of the forthcoming film and a chatroom, as well as the famous "sorting hat" to put you into one of the four Hogwart's houses.

The Sustainable London Trust - Thanks to Michelle (hello there!) for nudging me in the direction of this site. If you want to find out about various green groups, this may well be of some use to you.

Save Our World - The official homepage of the folks who put on a splendid fest down in Brixton some time ago. They've v.kindly linked their site
to mine, so do check 'em out to see what they're about.

Derek's Little Bit Of The World Wide Web - A webpage v.much like
my own, with some nice rave pics and old family photos too.

Tash's Festival, Travellin' & Environmental Archives - A serious set of pics by a bloke who's obviously been to more festies than I could hope to reach at. I think he's got a complete set of RTS and other campaign photos there.

Ocknroll - Another site with more than a few cool festy pics on it, as done by a bloke named Luke (with a little help from Dice George).

Alternative/Green Lifestyles UK () - Post pics and take part in discussions on green issues at this new site that's just come on-line recently.

Linda's Page of Harmonious Vibrations () - Assorted photos and other
stuff from a lady I first met down at the Guinness 'Land Is Ours' site in Wandsworth, S. London back in 1996. Not too bad for a first-time effort (though Rory nudged her in the right direction for some bits on it).

Hippy.com () - A site that I came across that helps you get in touch with your inner flowerchild (gosh, it's had that effect on me already!) Loads of forum pages with interesting discussions going on there.

Trash Your Razors! () - Quirky site I found at the previous
link by a lady known as "Hooperchick".

Poetess Homepage () - Various poems and prose with
Real Audio files of the authors reading them.

Trancendance () - Australian dance collective's homepage, with some stunning open-air pics of various raves they've put up in the past,
as taken by a bloke named Eoghan.

Paul & Jess's Morocco Pics () - Special thanks go out to a lovely couple I met at a Return To The Source, for passing onto me the previous link, as well as the link to some snaps taken in North Africa while at large and at work with the Channel Zero V.J. collective.

Dragon Collective () - Nice Welsh page, with more than a few
v.useful pages that you'd like to give a peek at.

Citizen's Connection () - Special thanks to Sharon at Lewis Carroll library for this link. An Aladdin's cave of facts, figures, and all-round info on-line.

Dean & Nigel Blend In () - Quirky, humourous site featuring said duo playing surreal, practical jokes on various members of the public.

Bassdove - Techno information network set up a bloke I met called Seamus through a mutual friend of ours (hello, Cormac!). V.nice flyers gallery
and selection of animated gif's, amongst other things.

The Greenhouse - "Alternative arts & stuff," as the
heading at the top goes. Give it a peek.

The Ring Of Irony - If you're into humour that's sharp, punchy and with its tongue firmly up it's cheek, then you'll love the sites collected here.

Morrissey-Solo - Frighteningly thorough site dedicated to the Mancunian "Guru of Glum." V. lively and deep discussions (too deep, at times).

Thrill Racer  - The site of a lady from the U.S. whom I met at a Morrissey concert back in November '99. Has two mp3 files of her band's songs, and various links to vegetarian singer-songwriters/. If you don't have/want/say grace, why not check out her page?

Public Enemy - In a rap world dominated by Moet-drinking "playas" who go on about nothing but how expensive their Lexus/Benzs/BM's/Bentleys (delete as applicable) are amongst other pointless things, it's good to see that the original conscious rap group are still out there, and still firin'. Loads of downloads and pics of stuff old and new to check out if you wish.

Guilfin - Another alternative listings site for you to check out, with links aplenty to events going on in and around London & the South-East.
They've also linked my page to theirs in the 'Festivals' section.

Critical Mass Sydney - Pics and reports from one
of the main cycle demos Down Under.

The Moulton Bicycle Page - I own two of these classic bikes, and this is an excellent site if you want to know more about one of the most revolutionary bicycles ever made. Has a spares and wants page if you need to make your Moulton road-worthy (should you own one, of course).

The Anti-Puff Daddy Page - Pissed off that your band can't get a booking in your local pub while Mr Combs rakes in silly money for his "covers" of
other people's songs? Why not check out this site and vent your spleen
in comfort by reading the messages in the guestbook & leaving
one of your own there today!

Reclaim The Streets! - Excellent campaigning site from the people who specialize in organizing impromptu street parties up and down
the UK. Lots of links for you to click on.

London Critical Mass - Good website with reports on past demos
and future happenings in the capital cycle-wise.

Urban75 - V. comprehensive underground news site. Has events list (regularly updated), plus good coverage of news that doesn't make the regular papers, and gives you the chance to duff up the celeb/political/all-round annoying person of your choice from the comfort of your chair!

Heartless Bitches International - Not for the romantic of heart. I can safely say that the person who runs this site hasn't made an appearance on 'Blind Date' (but then again, they may well have done, and this is the result).

The TV Room - At first viewing, this appears to be a real anorak's site. But as you go further into it, there are some good bits to be found and saved (I got an Real Audio file of the old-style Open University theme from there).

The Arsenal Homepage - The official site of the best football team
in the land (Galatasaray got lucky! Never forget that!).
Nicely put together, and informative to boot!

Whirl-Y-Gig - The underground sound system's official homepage.
Good links if you're into music that's psychedelic and trance-y.

Da Rugged Land Of Shaolin - The first of two pages for that rap bod in
your life. A good site on all things to do with the Wu-Tang-Clan.

The De La Soul Homepage - Here's the other one. Daisy Age rap pioneers still going strong and producing music that credits the audience with more than a scintilla of intelligence (with is more than can be said for Mr. Combs!).

Dice George's Homepage - V. comprehensive page from a bloke I used to see with his "travelling lightshow" in an old church taken over by travellers, dreamers and other sorts down Kentish Town a few years aback. Has links aplenty, plus self-penned poetry you may want to read going back a long way, as well as Real Audio files by various performers he's met on his travels.

Hippy & The Black Guy - Amusing comic strip on the web
(updated regularly).

The Boondocks - A website with attitude of a comic strip with attitude, using scalpel-sharp humour to address serious issues. Go check it out!

Authentic Hair - Having seen a well-known soul diva sporting her new "Farah Fawcett" look on the telly just a while aback, I was reminded of a lovely little webpage I discovered in a mag my ex-girlfriend was reading, in what used to be my local Tescos'. Most definitely a weave-free zone. Take a look at where Bjork got her one of her definitive looks from.

The Rock - Hyped up, hammy and v.theatrical. The perfect description of a site dedicated to the WWF icon known to his fans (and more importantly, himself) as "The Great One". Why not be deferential and click on the link!

That's your lot for now. More next update!
