Furbles is my adorable, 15 month old male chinchilla. He's a beautiful brown velvet with his pink, freckled ears, red eyes, and stripes across his front paws. He lives with my friend Ashley now because of some stuff, with her hedgehog Spike. I miss him terribly but he has a good home there and is being well-loved! This is his page...
Furbles is EXTREMELY spoiled...he rules me and he knows it! He's really good though. He lets me hold him, and has from very close to the beginning...a rare thing in a chinchilla. He loves being petted, but unlike most things I've heard, he seems to dislike being scratched under the chin. However, if you want to scratch behind his ears he'll be more than happy to oblige by laying them down flat for you!
This is where he sleeps. He HATES being put back into his cage after he's been playing, and will try very hard to stick his chinnie nose out through the bars. I often feel so sorry for him that I'll let him stay out to destroy my room while I sleep for a couple of hours, and then put him back in the cage when I wake up at 1 or 2 am. That way he gets some of his nocturnal yah-yahs out and I get some sleep so I can come back and write about him on the internet in the morning! =O)
Furbles didn't like the video camera at all. We took some still pictures of him outside and that was great, he could pose and then bolt right before the click. But he had serious issues with the video camera and flat-out refused to pose for it! It took us a good 20 minutes to get these pictures! I suppose it could have been worse though.
Here he is, faster than a galloping hedgehog, more beautiful than a hairless rat, braver than a little kitten, and solving incredible mysteries as the faithful furry sidekick of detective chin...
