The Mysterious Disappearance of Ray Zin

It was a lazy Saturday afternoon. My partner Furbles and I were enjoying some time off work time in the kitchen, reading up on Chin Genetics. Then we got a call. It seemed Mr. Ray Zin had gone missing and his wife, Snoo Zin was rather worried. We told them not to worry; we'd be right over.

We arrived at their house a few minutes later. How so many people could live together was amazing to us, and the expression "people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones" would certainly apply to the Zin family. Mrs. Zin apologized for the mess and invited us in.

She told us that Mr. Zin had not come home from work the day before. We asked where she worked and she told us he worked for Noah's Pet Ark, a pet store in Burnaby, BC which Furbles knew only too well. We told her we'd do what we could and left.

First we needed to find the address of the place. Furbles quickly found it in the phone book, and sampled the paper to make sure it was REALLY a phone book. He even tested the cover and the table the book was on. I'm so fortunate to have such a thorough partner. =O)

We popped over to the Ark and quickly deduced the answer to our friend's disappearance. It seems the pet store owner had mistaken Ray Zin for a raisin and fed him to a chinchilla. We felt terrible, although Furbles seemed to look more jealous than grief stricken.

We returned to Mrs. Zin and told her the bad news. She took it badly but Furbles soon made her feel better. Well, he put her out of her misery, anyways.

Ah, another case successfully wrapped up by...
