As I sit here alone with my thoughts
I marvel at how life twists and turns
While one moment we glow with excitement
The next is filled with scars and burns
I look up above and I wonder
Whatever will happen now?
I feel you slip farther away
I want to stop it, I am just not quite sure how
Our time which we was once so precious
Seems to have lessened more with each day
We used to make time for each other
Now it seems that has faded away
Now someone else has entered our story
During the time we have spent apart
Without knowing just how it happened
He has touched a spot, deep within my heart
Where with us hope has dwindled to nothing
With him it could soar so high
So my happiness is tinged with sadness
As the tears, they flow from my eyes
Please understand how special you are to me
You will always be a dear friend
But before the next chapter can be opened
The one before it, has to end
