THE SEASON

The Bucs began the season with hopes of a better season...they got what they wanted, finishing 11-5 for the regular season and coming short of the Super Bowl by just one score. It was an exciting season, with the quarterback controversy and the eventual benching of Dilfer. Tampa was electrified when Shaun King stepped up to be our next star, and all Buc fans know that more good times are to come along with his talent.

THE SEASON ENDS

23. Possession: When a player controls the ball throughout the act of clearly touching both feet, or any other part of his body other than his hand(s), to the ground inbounds. (that would include Bert Emanuel's elbow and both of his knees)

So maybe Bert Emanuel had a rough year with all of the nagging injuries and dropped passes, this however was definently a completion. This catch was first called complete but then was reviewed and reversed after the replay official up high in the stadium (Jerry Markbreit) decided that maybe it wasn't a catch. The funny thing is that the referee on the field agreed that it wasn't! Can you say conspiracy?

Congrats on a great year for the Bucs! With an 11-5 record the 1999 Bucs were possibly the best Buccaneer team that has ever been! Seeing the Bucs' best in the pro-bowl was a satisfying experience as well!!! Now for those referees...
