Movies

Last updated: April 24, 2000

Can you believe that my brother laughed at me when I told him that I was adding this page? He said, "What movies? You don't watch movies." He does not understand that I watch a few movies when they come out in DVD because I'm too busy and because sometimes I get lucky and actually find uninterrupted few hours.

Some of my favorite movies include:

What makes my favorite movie? Visual effect, script, good acting, witticism, and great music. Of course The Matrix doesn't have great acting (Who says K. Reeves can act?), but it's got the most stunning visual effects I've ever seen, so it gets to be my favorite. I always hate it when movies limit themselves in terms of visual and sound effects esp. in this age and time. Also note that a lot of visual effects done in The Matrix have been done in anime. Actually in Japanese magazines, the creators of The Matrix discussed how they've been influenced by Japanese animation.

One movie I think is absolutely the stupidest: Titanic.

This is the level of its juvenile script. The scene is when Rose is going through Jack's sketches.

"Oh, Jack, you see people." (Esp. naked females, right??? Just look at those sketches!)

"I see you." (Pervert...Undressing poor innocent Rose mentally...)

It's a dumb movie. First of all, the story is told in the point of view of the OLDER Rose. So how come she knows things like the captain's conversation with his crew, etc.? Is she a psychic? What? Does she think she's the heroine from The Vision of Escaflowne?

Furthermore, I know Rose (Kate Winslet) is big, but if she really wanted to, I bet she could haul that skinny boy aka Jack (Leonardo Di Caprio aka Retardo Di Crapio) on the door thingie she was on at the end of the movie. And don't you dare complain to me about me spoiling the movie! You know everyone was going to die anyway! What were you expecting? Rose and Jack will suddenly sprout wings and fly? Sheesh. It's only happened in The Vision of Escaflowne.
