mauricio pauly..born on september 8, 1976 in the Clinica Santa Rita as hurting as any labor and as ugly as any new baby. At age 5 he started piano lessons which lasted until he was 13 and started playing bass guitar. At 12 he formed a band with some classmates which included Gabriel Montagné and Cuanja Sanabria. He was the singer. It was known in school as the “Grupo de Sétimo” (7th grade band). This band deformed, as time passed, into Bruno Porter.

He started playing bass auto-didactically applying his piano and music knowledge into it. At 15 he started lessons with Gonzalo de Trejo, now índigo´s bassist. He completed two years of intensive improvisation theory investigation and practice and then complemented it with a period of digestion under the tutory of pianist, Manuel Obregón, between the end of 1995 and the end of 1996.

He began singing at age 12 doing what he could. He took lessons with Mary E. Peck. Mrs. Peck taught him how to sing. Later, in The Universidad Nacional, he did two years of academic singing studies with Douglas W. Gallagher. Douglas is actually his tutor and vocal guide.
