The Afterhours Report
For those who crave the underground,
The scene in the city seems pretty good these days with Bauhaus around as Jennstar's latest. The music is much deeper in the lounge downstairs but the dancefloor can be good depending on who's spinning for the night. The resident DJ is Gryphon though PTS and Sneak have played sets there in the past few weeks. I've been on Fridays and the buzz is that Mondays are supposed to be the bomb too. You can check Bauhaus at 31 Mercer St, just west of the former Oz.
Denile is another newish club located at 360 Adelaide between Peter and Spadina that is having a Sunday night house thing. The club is really nicely laid out inside, very cool, but maybe too commercial. I prefer just dark without all the bells and whistles ; ) Their resident DJ's are Dino and Terry, Kenny Glasgow, and Mario J so the music should be good but it remains to be seen if they will be able to draw a large Sunday following.
Of course there's always the Mad Bar at 230 Richmond where u can catch the safest classic house set in the city after midnight. I'm not sure if they still have their garage night or what, which was moved to Wednesdays but I hear is possibly back on Thursdays now. If so this is definately the best music you will hear in the city! Saturdays are always cool too, so check it out even if it's just to lounge and have some drinx.
Finally a couple things I have heard about but haven't been able to attend as yet is Thursday nights at Fusion and Fridays nights at the Beat Junkie on 306 Richmond. Are these nights good? Someone please email me with some feedback! ; )
Peace!

Email me if you have anything to add, I'd really appreciate it ; )
