Right after their second longplay strike “Eventide Of The Orb And Heavens”, on August 15th, 1998 the strongest Bulgarian dark-metal outfit hit the stage on the biggest underground festival in the new Bulgarian history - HYSTERIA’98. Now, here is the documental recording of their exceptional performance, experimenting on the crowd with cuts from the “Eventide...” album. So, here is a little reminder - we are talking about five musicians who are aware of the tendencies in the international music and keep their ears wide open for what others like Dimmu Borgir, Arcturus, The Kovenan, In Flames and all the rest of the underground leaders are doing. The final goal, however, is the making of their own music, able to compete with the forementioned for its strength, spirit, contents and sound. The music itself is impressive, with its black metal elements, often accompanied with really heavy guitars, so should it be stuck to any style, we’d call it “dark metal”. There is neither happy music, nor marry-go-round songs. This is pure darkness and aggression. And at the end of the deep live impression comes an excellent new studio track - the cover of Anathema’s “Sleepless”, mastered by the sound guru Rumen Bojadzhiev.
DESOLATE are extremely convincing! Perfect!

The strongest bulgarian dark-metal band has at last released their second longplayer.
They started back in 1992 in Sofia and after a period of stenious underground activities they emerged in 1994 with two cuts recoreded in City Studio. During the summer of that same year the band were proud with their first full-time try - “A Shadowed Dying Conscience”, followed by a year of silence but just to come back in 1996 with a slightly changed line-up  and to start tormenting the bulgarian underground scene with both small live shows and big underground forums across the country. In December 1997 DESOLATE enter Graffitti Studio and start their precise work on this second opus. We talk here for five musicians, who very closely keep track of the world underground tendencies and don’t miss the actions of bands like Dimmu Borgir, Arcturus, Covenant, In Flames and all the world music leaders. However their aim is but to create their own music which can be equal power-, content-, spirti- and sound-wise to the above mentioned bands. Therefore the album was mastered by rumen Bojadzhiev, the bulgarian name for this, and the sound turned out so autentic and could in no way be compared to the poor low-budget sound of many others. The music is quite impressive, with the typical black metal elements, but also filled with heavy guitars, so if we have to speak of styles DESOLATE will be described as dark-metal. There is no happy music here, nor are there easy tracks and merry tunes. This is darkness and aggression.
A crash between Harmony and Hell!

With a look turned in to remembrances and
imaginations of unknown matter,
a new life will come to the surface of memory;
in the unknown epoch carrying you away before pictures
of cosmic halls to read In them the chapters
of religion, which turns only and solely
into knewledge...
...remains only distance and time.
