THE WIZARD OF OZ

IN RELATION TO DRUGS

BEFORE GOING ANY FURTHER----

I would like to say something. back in June when i started the first page, I never thought it would go anywhere. but now it has created a lot of response. most of it was POSITIVE, but there were some NEGATIVE VIBES coming in. these negative people claim that i encourage drug usage and that i am an insult to the classic movie THE FACT IS THAT IS NOT TRUE.

I have created this page for two reasons....

#1) first and foremost to ENTERTAIN people. i just wanted to show u something that u might find entertaining

#2) enlighten you. i want to introduce you to a side of the movie that you have probably never thought of before.

VERY IMPORTANT--- i DO NOT ENCOURAGE drug use. never have never will.I also will not say "Don't do Drugs" that is not my job to tell you how to live PEOPLE i'm not going to discuss the battle for legalization here. right now drugs are illegal. i can't tell you what to do cause, it's your life and you must do what you want to. please i do not want to influence you. i don't want a nation of people living their lives out of my influence.

ALL I ASK IS TO ENTERTAIN AND ENLIGHTEN YOU

if you are a small child and not mature enough to read about things that go on in our everyday world, PLEASE LEAVE. I AM NOT YOUR ROLE MODEL. I REFUSE to teach you right from wrong, or censor my page so that you may view it. I do not know how old someone must be to view my page. i don't think it's content is any worse than your average newspaper. and i have seen a lot of young people read the newspaper with out supervision. but if you are in doubt of your maturity, please leave.

Character Breakdown

--Dorothy-- Just your average girl. She's never done drugs before. Though she has drank.( see ToTo)

--ToTo-- is a symbol of alcohol. IF you look at his name you'll see TOTO= to to or two two = 22 as in ounces.a 22oz that is.also he is referred to by in the beginning as "a menace to society" often people called alcohol a menace to society in the days of prohibition

--the scarecrow--he is a person that has been told by others that he is "fried" by the brain damage that drug use supposedly causes. They have told him that he has no brain. In the end the Wizard tells him that he in fact does have a brain. Maybe his name refers to Scare tactics used by people trying to ward people away from drugs?

--the tin man--he is a heroin addict that after a long time use has become weak and slow. after a long time with out the drug, he becomes very stiff and needs to be oiled up with a can that has a long needle type thing. PLUS he wants a heart. OK lets look at that heart now if we mess with the letters--HER AT; at could be A+ (as in an atom plus another atom) and that would be an ION. Now put them back together===== HER + ION = HERION--- Now a little more Messin and HEROIN

--the cowardly lion--he is a user who is afraid of what others might say if they found out he does drugs. He is also afraid of being arrested. Like toto, there is a hidden meaning to his name. Lion=lyin'. Maybe he's lyin' about his drug use?

--The Wizard of Oz--Like almost every drug user circle, Oz has a drug leader-guru-icon type person. All circles have some common "Wizards" Jerry Garcia, Tim Leary, Hendrix, Edward Burroughs, Kurt Cobain. The Wizard of oz is made out by the public to be a horrible, mean, nasty, and bad person that ordinary people just aren't good enough to see and talk to ( "NO One gets to see the wizard) But the wiz. isn't like what others say he's like.

--The East And West Witches-- These 2 show how the Western World (America, Canada) hate drugs. And The EASTERN World (China, Amsterdam, etc.) are more open minded

--The House Landing on The Eastern Witch--This is showing what Congress And The HOUSE of Representatives tried to stop drug use; by crashing down on it. But she didn't stay dead for long, remember she vanished, but left her mark (the red slippers) on the world of Oz

--The Western Witch and how she melted--she stood for all of the western worlds hate for drugs and it's theories. When Dorothy melted her w/ water it showed how their theories JUST DIDN'T HOLD WATER

--The Flying Monkies---?????????????????????? maybe helicopters sent to find and destroy drugs

--The Good Witch--the better part of society that does drugs (rich people, famous stars, Presidents)

--the Oz part-- OZ is a well known abbreviation of OUNCES and well duh! what is that a measurement of i shouldn't have to tell you. SO OZ is THE WORLD OF DRUGS

--the Twister--Is a symbol of Dorothy gettin violently sucked up into the world of DRUGS

the munchkins--- give dorothy a lollipop. this starts her using. many dealers often give young users their first fix for free, then when they see how much they like it, they are willing to pay (see below)

the apple trees--- dorothy thinks that just because she was given free candy by the munchkins (drugs) she can get free drugs from anyone, this is often seen today. dealers give kids free drugs then make them pay for their next fix

--The yellow brick road--the amount of $$$ that can be made off selling drugs or the high cost of being a user

THE GENERAL PLOT

Ok Here it is in a Nut shell; Dorothy a young innocent girl gets caught up in the World of Drugs which is OZ. She meets All the different elements of users. (Tin man, Lion, Scarecrow, etc.) She decides to quit using drugs. So every one tells her that in order to do this she has to get the Wizards Help. ( THIS IS UNTRUE) So she and her friends set off to find him. Along the way the encounter friends and foes. Eventually they meet him. He tries to take her away on a Hot Air Balloon (see below) but she misses the take off, and she uses her slippers to transport her home and out of the World Of Drugs. At home she finds that the people in Oz are just like her dear friends.

OTHER OCCURENCES

--the Hot Air Balloon-- this is showing that some people quit because of Societies HOT AIR about Drugs and not their own personal reasons

--the ruby red slippers--is showing that people can end addiction for their own reasons very easily

--the field of flowers they ran thru making them sleep--This is a poppy field. Heroin comes from Poppy plant petals. When they pick the petals the harvesters always wear full body protection to shield them from the dangerous dust that comes off of the plants. This dust is what knocked them out.WE hear the witch cackle "poppies will make them sleep" Note: the more experienced users took longer to be overcome by the dust. Just like the addicts who have a higher Heroin resistance ( THANKS TONY FOR REMINDING ME TO HURRY UP WITH THE ENDING OF MY STORY)

--The Emerald City Skyline--it Looks a lot like syringes and pills

the doorman at the emerald city--- "if you have never seen the wizard, how do you know he is there?" says dorothy. The doorman answers "i just do." this sound a lot like a christian agruing for the existence of god, even though he has never seen god he just knows that he exists. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
