My Noel Sighting and Concert Experience

Well, what an experience January 15th was. So many people to get mad at, so many people to thank. First off, Janine (the Guigsy Defender) who is actually just an insane Noel-Lover like myself. I am forever indebted to you and your brilliant ideas. Now onto the people who aren't on the high end of my scale. The folks at Much Music, and that reporter from the Toronto Sun. I guess you wondering what happened, eh? So I guess I'll start at the beginning. I left my house with my friends Kate and Katie at 6am and we arrived in Toronto at 12:30. We then got to Much Music at 1 and there were probably 25 other fans there...an encouraging sight, or so we though. Somehow though, after being ran from one side of the door to the other twice and being squashed amongst a bunch of strangers, hope was starting to leave me. Especially when 2:45 came and we could see Noel inside, but for some reason unknown to me, we were still standing outside screaming. The people at Much then started letting people in one at a time, as far as I coul tell (btw, Kathe, I am SO happy that you got in!! I saw you with your flowers too, but I didn't know it was you! :) ) but after much yelling they informed us that NOBODY else would be allowed in because some idiots at the back were pushing. So, since the 4 of us (we met up with Janine there) were near the front of the line we weren't by a window so we couldn't see a single thing of my beloved Noel. We scrambled to catch glimpses of him and all, but we were fed up. After much cursing, and having tears in my eyes (it was all I could do not to cry with anger and dissappointment), Janine came up with an idea of pure genius. So the 4 of us took off on a walk around the building. We eventually came to the back entrance of the parking lot and we spotted the door where Noel would come out, and his Limo. There were only us 4 and 3 others who we'd seen earlier in the line. We waited a bit and then the door opened and there was Noel with 2 bodyguards at the top of the stairs! My heart skipped a beat...or two, or three. We were all snapping pictures and I knew I couldn't let this pass without doing something! So I yelled "I Love you Noel!!!" and he turned to ME and smiled directly at ME. And so I then yelled "You're the BEST man!!!" and he waved and smiled at ME again! He was so sweet and SO gorgeous with these cool shades and furry parka. We were quickly shooed away by the security though, but we were ecstatic! Shouting and screaming down the street we were attracting a bit of attention. Too bad nobody knew what had just happened and we were FAR too excited to get the story out clearly. So then this lady was talking to us and asking questions and she whipped out a notepad and started writing notes. That made me a bit nervous but I kept talking anyways and then the next morning I saw my name in the Toronto Sun...unfortunately I was slightly misquoted though. I never said to that lady how hot Noel is...although we were screaming it when she stopped to talk to us...but still. I'm kinda embarressed by that, but I guess I can't do anything about it now. If you want to read the article, click HERE. The thing that annoys me is that now everyone thinks that I was all excited just cos Noely waved to the crowd...when in fact we all know now why I was so excited. So then after we had went back to the hotel to get warm and dry and eat, we went to the concert. Eventhough we were in the green section, our seats rocked! I didn't like Cornershop too much, they gave me a headache and put me to sleep, but we were just dying of anticipation for our lads from Manchester to come on. And at 8:45 they came on, and they rocked! The concert was so much better than the one in Barrie in '96. The lighting was great, the atmosphere awesome, and the icing on the cake (for me) was an amazing Noel acoustic set. It opened with Don't Go Awat and once again, I had tears in my eyes just listening to him. To Be Someone (by the Jam) was touching as was Talk Tonight and Whatever is always a fave of mine when sung by Noel. The concert lasted nearely 100 minutes and I thouroughly loved every minute of it!
