The "Laos Frontiersmen" are among the Hmong tribe, which the CIA used and then set about to destroy once their objectives were achieved. The CIA used the Hmong region as a big airstrip in which to drop supplies for the Hmong rebels. When the helos and aircraft left Laos to return from whence they came, they carried poppies and refined heroin to other regions where they were able to sell it, thus funding their covert ops.
