Secure the Day
Another day
goes by,
from Dusk
comes dawn
Passing
through this life
without
a single tear shed down
upon the
grave of he
who passed
the simple test of days
uncounted
and lives touched unnamed
Always knowing
that the day would come
When life
abandoned would creep by
And lift
our spirits beyond the heavens
Complications
gone and spirit at rest
Times long
gone, but long remembered
follow the
pathway to my heart
Screaming
stops and tears wiped away,
talk of
passage throughout the morning
glimpse
of sunlight shines down upon
the tortured
souls left to mourn
A dawning
of the spirit rears itself into sight,
and helps
heal the wounds of yesterday’s twilight
At peace
rests the soul of him we’ve buried
never forgotten,
never really known
As for those
left behind,
a thought
to invoke,
for tempered
sentiment
can never
be sold
At peace
within a scarce rarity
of time
and thought drift away,
leading
into the mind of others
that can’t
be left alone
in the sun’s
gleaming light…
