WELCOME TO HAWKE'S BIGG ASS BLUES HOWSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey there.......takin' a break from meatspace again, I see....
Just out wandering around the web and sorta wound up in th' alley lookin'
for something ta

Well sit back, take a load off, and holler at Grubber to bring ya a plate O
ribs, some red beans and rice and an icy Coke.......or whatever...
At the BIGG HOWSE you get what ya want......(hey....in cyberspace anything can happen!!!)
My name is Rick Weeth, a.k.a. HAWKE...and, as you may have surmized, I am the guy in the middle up there...
and I'm your host...This joint will always be undergoing some sort of change so be sure and drop back in
this a-way again soon and check it out...
I am from La Crosse, Wisconsin right on the Mighty Mississippi River, about 1100 miles
from where I was born.........New Orleans La. I been knockin around this rock for
35 years, and am into all things performance related. I am at present a soon-to-be-divorced father of the most amazing little man on the planet, BRANDON. He is three years old going on twenty. :)
A recent graduate of Viterbo College, I have a BA in Theatre Arts with a minor in History which means
I can act gracious whilst I rend thee to bits at Trivial Pursuit, so be careful! I do some work with
non professional theatre, usually composing music or making sounds to go with the play being produced.
A good friend of mine, MASON BROWN (Viterbo '97) and I co-wrote music for Aristophanes' THE BIRDS, for which
we were given a Meritorious Achievement Award from the KENNEDY CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS / American
College Theatre Festival in 1996. Mason is the Founding Director of the OPEN AIR PLAYERS here, and has
produced Shakespeare's TWELFTH NIGHT in 1996 and put on Molierre's TARTUFFE this past Summer. Again, I co-wrote for
Twelfth Night and for Tartuffe, I managed to put together some of the graphic arts just in time for opening night. (whew!)
And last but never ever least, I am lucky enough to play in a band with two of the very best friends a man
could ever have......
MIGRANT WORKERS BOUND FOR FRANCE
Rick Weeth/guitars & stuff...Jimmy "Flame" Lachman/drums...Richard "Frenchy" Brown/bass
We all sing and you never know what we'll do next cuz for the past 12 years we haven't worried
about it!!!!!! But we have fun and so do those who come and hear us!!!!
I am also in a kick ass variety band that is appropriately named OVERBOARD. I play guitar/harmonica and sing in that one.JOHN BARNAS sings and plays drums and is the El Supremo Big Shot Who Handles Bookings (608) 784-6420 in case you're interested. STEVE FREEHILL is the Golden Throated Clown Prince Of Bass who is guaranteed to keep you smilin all night. And if HE doesn't getcha, then there's this funny little Italian man behind the keyboards who will. MARK DAVINI is about as good at keyboard masterey as one man is ever gonna get in one lifetime and we're paid to tell you this, by the way...

On the odd occasion that they're playing on a night that I am free, I sometimes sit in and play keyboards with the DAVE ROGERS BLUES BAND. This band does all the Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Santana that you can handle. See this band!
Dave is the owner and proprietor of
which is an AWESOME place to visit either online or in rt.
I also, on occasion, play keys with
who are a hell of a lot of fun to hang out with. Go see them, too.
If you're in the area, look us up in the paper
Thursday's in the "LIVE" section!!!!
In the meantime, if you feel like it, shoot me a
via the e-mails and let me know whatcha think...
HOWARD LUEDTKE
Howard
is about the best blues guitar picker I have ever seen, and I have seen a great many so called "masters" who are no doubt worthy of that esteem; however, delivers scorching hot blues, chilly riffs, and stone cold untouchable style with as much energy, intensity, and proficiency as my friend, Howard. And as huge as all that sounds, he is that nice, easygoing, and fun to talk with and get to know as well. Check out his page, (Click Howie's pic) go see him play, buy his CDs and if you aren't impressed, then call 911 cuz Jack, you dead.
I am pleased to announce that the formative stages of a tour of Ireland and England are underway. Howard "Guitar" Luedtke and BLUE MAX and myself will hopefully perform in the Dublin and London areas. Howard's latest CD Face to Face With The Blues is getting some air play in the London area right now. Check back right here for updates on the Blue Max Invasion of the British Isles............
