CHRIS KANYON! That's right, Chris Kanyon has me totally pissed off. WHY?! This whole angle he's in right now. I've said for the last 3 years that he can do no wrong, I take it back. This angle is just so wrong! My first problem with it is the fact that it started in the same arena that Owen Hart died in. That alone should have been enough to keep them from trying anything stupid that could possible cause a repeat of that tragedy. Boy, was I wrong. I don't know if I'm more angry at Russo and Bischoff for even suggesting such at thing or Kanyon for going through with it. Ok, so I've heard there were stunt people standing by to change the direction of his fall if it started to go bad, HOW?!?! Come on, the guy was in the air, how was somebody on the ground going to change his direction?! Excuse me for not knowing the dynamics of stunt work but it pisses me off. I know he wasn't injured but just the thought that he could be crippled for real now or worse is enough to make me want to scream. Do the people in charge really care so little about the wrestlers that they'd be willing to put them at such risk? Aren't there enough risks just climbing into the ring without adding to them with such stupid stuff as that? And the guys are stupid enough to go along with it. Now if all these reports of Kanyon still wanting out of his contract are true, WHY would he be willing to take such a risk for a company that he obviously doesn't want to work with? The whole stunt was bad enough BUT now we have the paralysis angle! I do have to applaude Kanyon's acting ability too bad it's being wasted on such as this. I'm sure there are some that will say, at least he's on tv. BIG FAT HAIRY DEAL! I have adored this guy for 3 years now and I do NOT like seeing him lying in a hospital bed in a halo! Rumor is he's supposed to be out 5 weeks which will put him returning at Great American Bash, or is it Bash at the Beach, whichever the ppv is next month. That's fine, get him back in the ring where he belongs and please let this whole angle just be a bad nightmare.
So Buff Bagwell is on the verge of MAYBE losing his job for punching a backstage guy? Hmmm, let's see, Scott Steroid, um Steiner, is CONVICTED of aggravated assault and gets a MAJOR push and a title, Buff merely punches someone and is on thin ice with the powers? What sense does that make? Shouldn't the same rules apply to everybody? Don't get me wrong, I am not a Buff fan but I think everybody should be treated the same.
On a brighter not, I'd just like to say, THANK GOODNESS FOR ECW!!! The ONLY WRESTLING comany left. I do have a complaint though but it's not about them or their product, it's about TNN. DAMN, the show was on 10 minutes last night before they had the first match and it wasn't because of interviews or promos, it was because of commercials. What gives?! ECW is the highest rated show on TNN yet they would rather use it to promote ROLLER JAM?! Give me a break. Use ROLLER JAM to promote ECW! Do something please! All these guys need is a chance and they'll be the number 1 company, to hell with this number 2 that everybody seems to think they are fighting for, go for the whole thing! NUMBER 1! I know I'd rather watch it than any of the other. And if you EVER have a chance to see ECW live, take it. They are by far the best.
A few words about WWF, well one word, REPEAT! Isn't the whole Rock/McMahon fued just a replay of the Austin/McMahon fued with Rock taking the same abuse as Austin did? Has WWF done ANYTHING original since Russo left? I didn't think so.
It is good to see Undertaker back though. It's about time he pulled himself together and came back to us. Looking good, Dead Man, or Biker Man or whatever!
The ONLY thing that is remotely interesting on WWF anymore is Edge and Christian. Those boys are having too much fun with the angle that Vince has given them. Who can blame them? It's great.
