Wiccan Beliefs

First of all, Wiccans are polytheisists. This means that we believe in many gods/goddesses. Mainly we believe in the Great
Goddess and her son and consort, the Horn'd God. The Great Goddess has three aspects, the Maiden, the Mother, and the
Crone.

The Maiden symbolizes childbirth, childhood, beginnings of endevors, growth, new life, spring and the new and waxing moon.
She is an unmarried, uncommitted young woman who belongs only to herself. She may be warm and kind, but She also bears
sharp weapons and does not hesitiate to use them.

The Mother symbolizes parenthood, romance and love, procreation, mystery and the full moon. She is connected to the tides,
the menstrual cycles of women, the unconscious mind and the Earth.

The Crone symbolizes the end of things, death, banishing, wisdom of old age, hidden things, darkness, silence, the solitude
realized by each living thing as it dies alone, and the waning and dark moon. Though She is not always kind, and She wreaks a
lot of pain while dealing out destiny, it must be done.

The Horn'd God is born of the Goddess at Yule and becomes Her consort at Beltaine and dies at Litha. He symbolizes youth,
confidence, adventure, noble ideals, sowing of seeds, grain reborn.

Wiccans celebrate the cycle of life as well as the cycles of the moon and the seasons. We observe the holidays of Pagan
Europe: 8 festivals evenly spaced about the wheel of the year. At the quarters are Equinoxs and solstices and between these
are the cross quarters. We also celebrate the phases of the moon as it tracks the events of the Goddess and God. We believe
that deity is not only found outside our realm/plane of existance, but also in every living thing and all that supports it.

While working magick we follow the Wiccan Rede and the Three-fold Law. The Wiccan Rede in short is the following: "An
ye harm none, fo what ye will. " The three-fold law states that the karma you send out into the universe will return to you three
times good, or three times bad. We are not Satanists, we do not believe in Satan or the devil, nor do we believe in sin. In it's
place we believe in karma which is defined as the power resulting from an individual's volitional acts.

We do not try to convert others. We will explain our religion, or even teach, if someone is interested to learn, but we do not
preach nor try to convert anyone. We believe that everyone must find the path that is right for them because all paths lead to
the same truths.

We have no official religious books though we do keep a book of shadows. This is like a diary of our dreams, thoughts, spells
and rituals, and other magickal writings.

Many Wiccans work in groups called covens or circles, but many others work in solitary. There is no right or wrong way, just
the way that is right for you.
