I will be the entertainment at "The Spot" at SUNY Stony Brook. This event is co-sponosered by the Women's Studies Department and the spot in honor of Women's History Month. There is a $3 cover charge to get in. The manager Godfrey is the best and was instrumental in putting this together-It is an honor to be chosen for this performance!

MY STORY Hi, I am Marci Geller, a singer/songwriter with a story to tell. Me and my band signed an indie record deal last year. "The bigggg break"-right? Wrong. Unfortunately, the label was good at writing checks (to the studio, engineers,etc. - basically everyone but us), but when it came to actually pressing and releasing any product - well, let's just say it's collecting dust. So here I am a year later. The label owns my band name, but that's about it. I have written an entire new album's worth of material, and I have to say disappointment has been a big inspiration to me. I will approach some labels with the CD once it's recorded, but I will listen to my own instincts this time around, and if I don't find the right label, I will put it out myself. I feel as though my record deal was a gigantic lesson in "Music Industry 101". I would be happy to exchange ideas, or offer any advice that I can to any musicians, artists...whomever. I have learned the hard way. I will share any info I think will be helpful with anyone who is interested. I have found nothing more fulfilling on this planet than my music. It soothes me, it saves me. I hope you have found something that gives you this much joy. It's what makes the whole trip worth while!
