YM - Nick and Jeff

Take one look at these guys and imagine them harmonizing love songs down at you from the stage. That about sums up the sweet, soulful dudes from Ohio who say they communicate best through singing. Not since Boys II Men have there been such clear winners in the category of best slow-dance music, not to mention the category of studliness.

Nick, we hear you sang at tons of cheerleading camps last summer. Is this a clever way to meet women?
"It’s to promote our songs. But, yeah, we love to entertain the ladies."

What did you do before this?
"I delivered Chinese Food in L.A."

That must’ve sucked.
"Actually, I had some fun doing it. Once I went out on delivery to an office building, and the girl who’d ordered it was so pretty I serenaded her right there at the office."

What song did you sing to her?
"In the Still of the Night".

Did you get her digits?
"Yeah, but I didn’t have the nerve to call her. Singing is easy--but otherwise I can be shy."

Jeff, your bandmate says he serenaded a girl in public. Are you that gutsy?
"Definitely, I once sang for a random girl in the mall. I felt that if I’d passed up that opportunity, I never would have seen her again."

Did this technique work?
"Yeah, we actually dated after that."

What’s the weirdest thing a girl has done to catch your attention?
"One time, at an amusement park, this girl came out of nowhere and just kissed me. She was a complete stranger, so I thought it was kind of odd."

So you don’t dig that approach?
"The girl was cute and she definitely caught my attention, but it was a little forward for me."

Got a fave girl body part?
"Eyes, but, honestly, I really value a girl’s sense of humor and independence."

Any rocker chicks who make you gaga?
"Definitely Sade. We’d love to do something with her musically. Not only is she a stunning woman to look at, but her music is totally mesmerizing."
