Discography

               Full length albums

1991 Jah Won't Pay The Bills (cassette only)-[not available]

Four tracks off this album showed up on 40 oz. to Freedom rerecorded, but there are still
plenty of tracks from some of the earliest days, which have not since been released... maybe
someday again. Although, we'd bet against the possibility, finding an old copy of this one
would be a truly great find. (includes: original Ball and Chain, demo of Date Rape, original
Slowride, original Don't Push, and Had a DAT)

1992 40 oz. to Freedom (CD and cassette)

Labeled an indie cult classic, 40 oz. woke a lot of bored music lovers. The
combination of punk, dub/reggae, ska, hip-hop, and plenty of other elements
bouncing in and out and through each other noted a groundbreaking approach to
making music the D.I.Y. way. More than four years after its initial release, thousands of
consumers per week are still discovering this collectors' essential. Only some copies of
this album are still available with Sublime's stylistic calling card song Get Out and the
desert campfire classic Rawhide, as both were removed because of some communist legal crap.
(includes: Ebin, Don't Push, Scarlet Begonias [Grateful Dead], We're Only Gonna Die For Our
Own Arrogance [Bad Religion], Date Rape, Badfish)

1993 Chiva Keneevil (cassette only)-[not available]

A precursor to Robbin' the Hood, this one is probably even harder to find than Jah Won't
Pay... Most of its contents have seen the light of day somewhere else.

1994 Robbin' the Hood (CD only)

Making quite a few '94 top ten lists, this subversive, experimental masterpiece
has eluded the passive listener and stoked the fanatic. Ranging from brilliance
on the four track home recorder in various SoCal living rooms to insanity from a
certifiable science fiction writer (the rantings of Raleigh Theodore Sakers, who was heard
to have been recently playing the Irish club scene in Los Alamitos, California), Robbin'
explores so many different avenues of music and beyond that it's difficult to believe it all
came from the same collective of artists. Many have compared it to the Beastie Boys'
Sophomore release, Paul's Boutique not for the music, but for the chances it took and the
place it held in Sublime's constant growth as a musical force. (includes: Greatest Hits, Saw
Red [featuring Gwen from No Doubt], Pool Shark, All You Need, Work That We Do, Secret
                    Tweeker Pad)

                    1996 Sublime (Cd and cassette)

Heckler Magazine calls it "a masterpiece" and "an instant classic." Countless others have
been quoted similarly. Time magazine says: "Best rock release of the year." Stories keep
coming back from the road that all kinds of bands have had this album playing constantly
throughout their entire tour (on the bus, between acts at shows, in Gwen Stefani's hotel
room...). This major label debut marks a maturation into Sublime's most cohesive work to
date. Many tracks produced by Butthole Surfer Paul Leary (Meat Puppets, Ween) and a few
others by David Kahne (Fishbone, Soul Coughing) are combined to form a roller coaster of
auditory avenues. Few albums have ever delved into so many genres and come out this solid.
(includes Wrong Way, Doin' Time, What I Got, Santeria, April 29, 1992 [Miami], Paddle Out)

                    1995 Badfish CD-5 (CD only)

(includes original Don't Push, a live recording of We're Only Gonna Die..., two previously
unreleased tracks: Roots of Creation, an early demo recording from '87-88 and a live dub
from Commotion in San Francisco, '94

                    Vinyl

1994 Work That We Do (7") (includes Slowride, Lou Makes Friends)

1995 Date Rape (12") (includes Steppin' Razor, Greatest Hits, Free Loop Dub)

                    1996 All You Need (7")

This is a true collectible, as it is a split with Chicago monsters of rock, the Wesley
Willis Fiasco, who toured on both coasts with sublime and, like sublime, are no longer
together. Sublime's track is from Robbin' the Hood and WWF's Get on the Bus is from their
                    only full length release, Spookydisharmonious-conflicthellride.

                    1996 What I Got (12")

(includes What I Got {original demo version}, Doin' Time, Get Ready, April 29, 1992 [Miami])

company responsible for such classics as Biker Sluts from Hell, Toxic Avenger and Class of
                    Nuk'em High -- Troma 1996

Go Big (New Thrash and CD ROM with some documentary footage on sublime) OM Records 1995

Surf, skate, snow, and active culture videos featuring the music of Sublime are too numerous
to list... take your chances on just about anything produced between 1992 and 1996...
there's probably some sublime in there somewhere.

                    International releases

                    Canada

Full length compilation of 40 oz. to Freedom and Robbin' the Hood (includes everything from
Waiting for my Ruca to STP, from Date Rape to Free Loop Dub). This is a great album to track
down if you want to turn your not-so-musically-cultured friend into a real sublime fan)
                    MCA-Canada 1995.

                    Australia

Full length. Most of 40 oz. to Freedom plus bonus otherwise unreleased tracks: original
4-track Garden Grove, original demo of Ebin, and an untitled dub recorded live at S.F.'s

                    Robbin' the Hood

Bonuses included: original demo of Date Rape from '87-'88 and sup-herb recanting of the
legendary Bob Marley's Trenchtown Rock. It is a mistake not to own something with this song
on it. Just listen. You'll know. Liberation/Mushroom 1996
