Armour

(And don't ye be smudgin up me work)

Breastplate
BREASTPLATE: A great deal of protection was provided by this type of armour since it could simply be worn over a doublet or other type of clothing. It gives good protection without the weight and encumbrance of a full suit of armour. While it protected the wielder from upper body injuries and allowed for more freedom of movement, it in no way protected the lower extremeties.

Cuirass

CUIRASS: (Shown is Burgonet with Breastplate & Backplate)

Although somewhat outdated, this ensemble gave adequate protection to the wearer. This armour was used during combat or any exposure to outlaws or brigands. While relatively light in weight at 15 pounds, it allowed superb freedom of movement while privind ample protection.

Breasplate
BREASTPLATE: Again, another design in the type or armour that can be worn over various types of clothing. Many cities preferred to have their coat of arms showing on the front of the armor. This was especially helpful during skirmishes between various cities. At least, you'd know who the enemy was.

Breastplate
BREASTPLATE: This particular armour is lighter than the ones shown above and is held in place by straps. It basically covers only the front portion of the chest while the back remains exposed. It was very convenient in which it could be removed very quickly. Breastplates like this were extremely useful in reflecting the sun against distancing opponents, sometimes blinding them with the sun's light.
