WELCOME TO STEVE'S "THE STONED AGE" PAGE!

Hello, and welcome to one of the most comprehensive sites on the best movie ever made! First off, I'd like to say thanks to the thousands of people that have come across this site in its six years of operation. We'll be closing in on 10,000 soon. It's mindblowing to think I started this in 1997 at the age of 17, and here I am, writing this at age 23. Thank you all! As you may or may not know, it's the ten year anniversary of the very movie that you're here to read about! Take an hour and a half to watch the movie again, and give thanks for it's awesomeness!

I've been thinking of addding a blog. I know no one probably cares about the goings on in my life, but the idea has been interesting me for awhile now. It seems like my whole world revolves around the neverending quest to get my ex-girlfriend back, so I can't imagine that it would make for a gripping read, but who knows. Stay tuned.

It has recently been brought to my attention that the DVD edition of The Stoned Age does not seem to play on PC DVD-ROM systems. My computer does not have DVD capability, so I cannot check for myself. The news is fairly depressing, since it is keeping the number of people that would buy the DVD lower than it should be. I haven't seen any problems reported on normal DVD players, although my PS2 seems to like to have the video get a little ahead of the audio, which is fixed by pausing the player, but it still sucks. Good thing I have a normal console DVD player in addition to the PS2. What I would like from people that view this site is for you to email me with what kind of DVD player you have and whether or not you have experienced any problems with the DVD. Just something quickly fired off to me, I'd appreciate it.

WARNING: SMALL EDITORIAL AHEAD. :)

If you've been here in the last...oh, year or so, you'll notice that not much has changed. Then you can ask "why is that Steve?" And I'll tell you why. There simply isn't much more ground to cover. The movie is ten years old now. Some of the actors have continued on in their careers, some have gone off on others. The hope of a sequel, something that was actually possible when I first saw the movie in 1996, is now virtually nonexistent. No one would believe a bunch of 35 year olds as teens. And if they recast it, it would be utter crap, the people who saw the original wouldn't buy into it, and everyone else would wonder why there's a "2" in the title, "The Stoned Age 2". I almost wish they'd start showing it on USA Networks again, though they totally butchered it in the conversion to "TV Friendly" status. Seriously, the edited version was like watching the movie with the "mute" button on. But at least it got the movie out where people could watch it, wonder what the hell exactly was going on, and then rent it, and see it as it was meant to be seen.

I have been getting a few more emails lately, which I much appreciate. Keep it coming! I know there probably aren't too many more nits to share, but just let me know how and why you enjoy the movie! Also, let me know if you have an idea for something I can do to give away my VHS copy of the movie. Also, if anyone comes up with any more technical problems regarding the DVD release, let me know. I will get a page together outlining what players it will and will not play on.
