BRUCE DICKINSON had a lot on his shoulders when he joined IRON MAIDEN. For starters, he former singer of Maiden had been popular with the fans and many supporters were not immediately willing to accept Bruce as the new singer. However, his first vinyl appearance was what established Maiden as a force to be reckoned with! Over night is seemed that Iron Maiden went from a small UK club band to a worldwide sensation. And, at the same time Bruce instantly was inducted into membeship in that unspoken clun of legendary singer whose members include ROB HALFORD, RONNIE JAMES DIO, IAN GILLAN (Bruce Dickinson's teenage idol), DAVID BYRON, etc.
Bruce Dickinson, unlike many heavy metal performers, has many interests outside of music. He is a big fan of history, is an expert at fencing, and and is a world traveler. To his credit, Bruce was not afraid to break away from Iron Maiden after the Maiden albums began sounding the same as previous releases. Bruce has dared to explore new ideas with his new band and has ultimately come full circle. His new material includes the best of his trademark Iron Maiden melody lines, plus the crunchy, chunky guitar influences of modern and underground thrash.
A toast to you Bruce! May you continue to grow as an artist and continue to make us proud! Your voice, your melodies, and your charisma have entertained thousands and brightened up otherwise dull days for many!
