November 15, 1998 --- The new METALLICA album will include an eleven-minute medly of old MERCYFUL FATE TUNES! (Curse of The Pharoes, etc.!) Perhaps this means that METALLICA will finally head back to their heavy roots!

October 4, 1998 --- ILLWILL, has signed a deal with NEW RENAISSANCE RECORDS. The band is from Sweden and all of the musicians (except the singer) are current or former members of MERCYFUL FATE or KING DIAMOND!

October 3, 1998 --- It has just been anounced that there will be a festival entitled CITADEL in Belgium on December 20. A number of underground metal acts will be included.

October 1, 1998 --- GUTRIX, the band which stars HANK SHERMAN (lead guitarist and founding member of MERCYFUL FATE) will release their new album, MUSHROOM SONGS, on NEW RENAISSANCE RECORDS.

September 22, 1998 --- Bob Daisley is currently touring Europe with DIO! (Could this be an omen of things to come?...as in a RAINBOW reunion! Remember! You heard it first at Metalstarz!)
