To Our Band Of The Month

For the month of: JUNE

Every month SKAll You Need Punk!! does a little caps off to a band we think has really satasfied the ska community, and has worked hard, and pushed out an incredible quality of music, and has helped us all for the better. A band we think has really come through, and a band we think has been very much worth the title of a tribute.

If you would like to suggest a band to us, please just go ahead and leave a short note on it or at least leave the band name right here in the Guestbook

Less Than Jake

This Less Than Jake tribute will include:

Biography on each member of the Less Than Jake:
Chris: Chris plays the guitar, and also sings. Chris is totally obsessed with 80's heavy metal (we are horrified also). We also hear he speands about a half an hour in the mirror putting on a costume, then takes it off about two minutes into the show. Go figure.
Vinnie: Vinnie's the drummer of Less Than Jake, he is one of the two pez obsessed guys, and shares his glee with a tatoo on his leg. Vinnie writes most of the lyrics for the band, but you will probably never see him at a show, because like most drummers, he is stuffed behind a drum set.
Roger: Roger does singing and plays bass. He is the other pez obessed LTJ member. He also has a pez tatoo on his leg, and has had longer than Vinnie!
Buddy: He plays trombone. Buddy's nickname is Goldfinger. So if you see him write that, please don't think he is a smart ass.
Derron: Derron plays the barritone saxaphone. He is totally obessed with Star Wars, and even has a tatoo on of the trilogy. He also is the proud owner of an extensive collection od Star Wars memoribilia.
Shaun: He is this circus, clown biter lookin' dude who is the roadie and the guy that makes sure LTJ doesn't get pipe bombed, but LTJ says he doesn't really do anything until someone should call the paramedics.
Pete: Pete plays the trombone and was formally a member of Slapstick.
Jessica: She left this band and is now with the Crustaceans, but she used to play alto sax for LTJ. She was with LTJ for four years.
Lars: Lars formally of Skankin Pickle has taken Jessica's place on Less Than Jake.

Okay, so why the name Less Than Jake?
Well, one of the members' parents used to make him eat like tv dinners and bring home his dog, Jake like lobster! SO he was like, Less Than Jake, then also, in the 1920s, 'Everything is jake" was like "everything is cool", so they would be "less than jake" or "less than cool" which we all no is BS. They rule!

Legend of the secret song
Before we tell you this, we have to say @ the request of LTJ...THIS CONTEST WAS OVER YEARS AGO, SO QUIT TELLING THEM YOU FOUND IT! SIMPLY GIGGLE AMONGST YOUR FRIENDS!
Okay, now, first you need the Losing Streak CD. Then on the first song, you press play but you then press search back. (*Note: Search is=like rewinding manuely, and Skip is= like actullly skipping th entire song, so you want to press search back) you do this until you go into neg. numbers. It may not really say -1:40 but it will be, you will kind of be able to tell it is not a song. The secret song isnt a song, it is a very funny story about this guy in the 40s cheating with this married woman. It is very funny. It starts roughly around -1:40, but I advise you starting it on -1:38 or so, because if you hit -1:41 even, it makes you do it all over again!! Good luck, I hope you find it most amusing, and if you are like me, you will be trying this on all your other cds. If you find another CD with this secret song thing, tell us in the Guestbook!

This is where we sing LTJ's praises!
When we pop on the net, we like to have thst cd spinning around on our Less Than Jake CDs, even Mike Park (formor singer of Skankin Pickle, and owner of Asian Man Records) said that you can't help but dance to LTJ! And you really can't, its just really fun to flop alop around you room, or at a show to them. They are really funny, and have lyrics that really make ya think a little past ska, or anything for that matter. We would just like to say, hats off to a band that should make it big for their music, no their clothes. And one of the coolest things I like about LTJ is that they were going to go ahead and do MTV, but MTV were a bunch of buttnuggets to them so they said screw it. They weren't going to throw away their pride for a few extra sales. They make it big on their own terms, and they demand brotherhood respect, not just because they are a band, but because they are human. Good luck Less Than Jake.
