FUNNY STAGE ANTICS
A.J.:I bought our percussiom section down the whole thing crashed on stage!
Kevin:In Hamburg at a show,[a problem at] the airport made our mics malfunction. At the time it stunk. But now it's kinda funny.
Brian:Once we were performing a song fom the new album and...I blanked on the words!I ended up just humming along. The others were useless-they were laughing and didn't try to help me outat all!
Nick:We did a number, I danced too wild and...when we landed from the jump, my pants fell down!Swoosh!the whole audience got to see my boxers.
PRIVATE THOUGHTS BEFORE SHOWTIME
Kevin:Putting in a good show...
Nick:I think about what I ate.
Howie:About being prepared. Making sure that we have our mics and all our clothes on.
A.J:We get excited, nervous, and have lots of adrenaline.
Brian:Making sure my zipper is up and my shoes are tied.
RITUALS BEFORE GOING ON STAGE
A.J.:We usually sit and eat dinner together and talk about all the important details...then[we]change together
Brian:We all join hands...it's more or less a focusing point, with us saying mentally, what we have to to go out there and accomplish, what we have to do.
A.J.:About an hour before we go on stage, we warm up our voices and bodies...
Kevin:Get dressed, warm up, vocalchords, souncheck, group prayer...show time!
THE DARK SIDE OF THE ROAD!
Brian:Being away from home and not having girlfriends...It takes me awhile to get to know a girl.
Nick:The traveling does get kind of gruesome sometimes. I'm away from the rest of the family...
Kevin:I like trying foods from different places...but aftera while I miss some good American food.
Nick:I'm always scared on planes,I hate flying. I thinkI get better the more often I fly though, none of the others get scared though...
A.J.:You'll be in the US, and you have to fly to Spain for one day. You don't get enough time to sleep.
Howie:You get jet lag a lot...Sometimes when you finally catch up , you take off again...
LIFE ON THE ROAD!
A.J.:It's like living in a moving house with five older and younger brothers.
Kevin:A lot of fun, a lot of work, and sometimes a little lonely. It's what I've always dreamed of.
Brian:I enjoy beign on the road because we have a lot of fun and perform. I love to perform!
WHAT THEY BRING ON THE ROAD
Kevin:I always bring my CD player, CDs, magazines, books, picturesof my family...
Brian:Clothes and my basketball.
A.J.:I used to bring my blanket--the blanket I had for 14 years!I went to a hotel in North Carolina and I think the maid thought it was a rag--because it looked like a rag--and threw it out.
Howie:A lot of clothes, books...I used to bring a game boy, now I bring my laptop and sometimes my guitar!
NickVideo games, paper and pemcils for drawing, clothes, car magazines and comics.
