STOP RIGHT NOW!
We wannabe left alone . . . pregnant Scary Spice is turning her and new hubby's 2.5m lovenest into fortress
By MARK LISTER

SPICE bride Mel B and her hubby are building a 7ft wall around their 2.5million lovenest - to scare away gawpers. Pregnant Mel, 23, is also splashing out on state of the art surveillance cameras and a hi-tech security gate to turn her stately pile into a fortress.

The star, who married dancer Jimmy Gulzar, 31, last month amid amazing security, is desperate to keep fans away from their manor house in Little Marlow, Bucks. A pal of Scary - whose Spice Girls hit Stop! warned "Stop right now" earlier this year - said yesterday: "They want to feel safe and keep prying eyes away."

The eight-acre grounds were already surrounded by a wall - but the local council has given the couple the go-ahead to build it 1 1/2 ft higher.

The newlyweds have also won planning permission to replace the gate at the entrance to their drive. The new one will boast an imposing stone arch - with spy cameras linked to their eight-bed 16th century mansion.

The friend said: "The gate will give them security in their lives at home.

"And they are increasing the height of the walls well above eye level to stop fans and visitors peeping.

"They will now be safer at home - even if it means turning the old house into a bit of a fortress."

A planning spokeswoman for Wycombe District Council confirmed: "An application to increase the height of the perimeter wall, replace the gate and build an archway has been granted planning permission."

Meanwhile Scary's fellow Spice Girl Mel C, who still lives with her mum, has splashed out on a 200,000 luxury flat in Liverpool's trendy Albert Dock. But she revealed yesterday that it was for a RELATIVE.

Sporty, 24, said: "I've bought the apartment for a member of my family and I will be staying there whenever I am in Liverpool.

"It's great to have somewhere to stay so close to my home. I'm made up because I love Liverpool."

She added: "When I was at school we would come down here to the Albert Dock and I used to say to my friends, 'One day I'll have a flat here.' And now I have."

Neighbours include several of her Liverpool soccer idols - including Jamie Redknapp and stunning pop star wife Louise. Robbie Fowler also has a home there - as does Steve McManaman and girlfriend Victoria.

Sporty's mum Joan O'Neil said at the home her daughter bought for her in Widnes, Cheshire: "The whole family is chuffed to bits.

"The only problem is that now she won't be staying with me when she comes home because she's got her own place."
