The WWSD
What is the WWSD?
First of all, let me introduce myself to you, I'm ShyGirl, the creator of the name "WWSD". WWSD stands for World Wide Spice Demand, its an organization which pressurises certain companies (television channels, radio stations, magazines etc.) to give the proper publicity, respect, and credit the Spice Girls deserve. As you know, there has been a lot of negativity thrown at the Spice Girls lately, well the WWSD is here to help shield the Girls from the garbage, and encourage the companies to write more positive things about the Girls. The way we change the company's habbit, is by organizing "missions", we reserve a day (or week, it depends on the mission) where we send literally hundreds of emails, phone calls, and postal letters to that company stating what we want, what we really really want! And in every letter, we make sure they know we are from the WWSD, we make sure they recognise us. And our missions really do work, about 3 months ago, we sent MTV (USA) hundreds of emails demanding them to have a Spice Girls Day, well...not only did they have a Spice Girls Day...they had a Spice Girls WEEKEND! We did get several responses from MTV, trying to deny that they never disrespected the Spices, but we weren't having it mate! We put them in their place, and we got what we wanted! So basically, the WWSD is about...well.. our motto is "Keep the Spice vibe alive!", so that should say it all right there!
How to join
Joining is simple. Email me, Geerte Slappendoorn, or Raymond Koh, and put "Count Me In!" in the subject line. Anthony Bush, the WWSD President, isn't here at the moment, so that is why you should send your questions or comments to one of us instead. When you join, you'll be added to the New WWSD mailing list, which will keep you updated on the WWSD's progress, and where you'll be able to discuss new missions. You will also be eligible to obtain your personalized WWSD Membership card (for members ONLY), for more info, go to Raymond's Site for details.
Our latest missions
-Send MTV hundreds of letters, DEMANDING them to have a Spice Girls Day, and DEMANDING them respect and proper publicity for the Girls. Addresses are listed in the Connection Section.
Update: Its official, MTV IS GOING TO HAVE OUR SPICE GIRLS DAY!! Not only that, but they said the WHOLE WEEKEND is going to be about Spice! See how powerful the WWSD is? If we can make MTV budge, then we can make anybody budge. You know who will really listen, those teenbop magazines. If anybody has the addresses to all those magazines, please tell me and I'll post them up for everybody can mail them.
-Now we're sending ANY music related company letters and DEMANDS.. Update: We did it again! Some of us sent Entertainment Weekly Magazine letters saying to have a cover story on the Spice Girls, well they've read our letters and decided to listen to us! They are going to have a Girl Power issue which will be on newsstands next week (March 27). Thanks again people!
-This is going to be our 2nd big mission, thought up by Geerte Slappendoorn. On Sunday,March 15 we are all going to email hundreds of letters requesting more Spice Girls to hitforsix@mtvne.com and jukebox@mtvne.com at 2pmEST until 3pmEST. Then from 3pmEST to 4pmEST we will email toyah!@mtvne.com and vh1@mtvne.com. But this time we have to write our letters a little nicer, cos if we're too mean about it, they'll think that we're ignorant and just ignore us.
-Our next mission is to convince WBS to have a Spice Girls chatroom. Send your NICE requests to roomhelp@wbs.net, if they get enough requests they might put up a Spice Girls chatroom. For more information on WBS, go to their website and sign up for a free account, because if you want to chat on the WBS program, you have to get an account, but its free so its no big deal.
-Here's an idea to help expand the WWSD into something really big! But I need to hear what you guys, the members, have to say about this, I need your opinions:
I really want to take the WWSD as far as we can, and make this a huge organization. So why should only the people with internet be apart of the WWSD? People without computers should join too, right? So I was planning on submitting an ad in several popular newspapers (or magazine) to advertise the WWSD for more recognition and more members. If they want to join, they'll send me a self-address-stamped-envelope including their name, address, phone #, age and email addy (if they have one). Then every couple of weeks (or every month, I'm not sure yet) I'll send them a Newsletter updating them on exclusive Spice news (you know, the news that usually don't get aired on TV or in magazines until weeks later), new WWSD missions and updates, and anyother stuff thats worth putting in the Newsletter. But if anybody else wants to write up the Newsletter, be my guest, because I'm not that good at writing plus I won't have the time. I'm still trying to sort out the details, so maybe you guys can help me, like what magazines should I put the ad in, and what other ways can we expand the WWSD? But tell me where you stand, like if you agree and want this to happen, or if you want to do it a different way. Cos I'm full steam ahead, I'm ready to do this and make this into a huge corporation!:-)
-Ok, you know how those evil PETA people (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) threw a pie at Victoria, right? If you thought that was a pretty mean and stupid way to get people to stop wearing fur, then PLEASE email them and express your feelings towards that incident. And I hope that they are well aware that pies are made from milk, which comes from cows, which are usually tortured and harmed during the milking process, so at-the-end-of-the-day PETA is actually promoting harm to animals. Maybe you should mention that to them. But don't get me wrong, I love animals and I personally don't wear real fur (cos I don't have the money for it) and I think harm towards animals is very very bad, but these PETA people are just f*cked up. Oh, mind you that Victoria was FORCED to wear real fur by the fashion magazine Tatler, so I think the PETA people are targeting the wrong person here. And not too long ago, Victoria said that she didn't like those photos that came out in Tatler, so I assume the reason why is because of the fur....well..probably not but mention that to them also!:-) So if you wanna send letters, scroll down and you'll find PETA's addy and stuff, BUT BE NICE, cos they usually don't pay any attention to angery letters.
-**Next Mission!!** Starting Monday June 8 through Friday June 12, we are gonna send 1,000's of requests to MTV's Total Request Show. We need at least 15,000 votes to get the Spice Girls on the Total Request countdown so we need as much help as we can get! Tell your friends! Ok, there is a certain time that we can vote though, whatever Time Zone you're in, thats the time you vote:
Pacific Time: 9:30am-10:30am
Mountain Time: 10:30am-11:30am
Central Time: 11:30am-12:30pm
Eastern Time: 12:30pm-1:30pm
(London, Dublin): 5:30pm-6:30pm
Send your requests to total@mtvmail.com, and make sure to say that you're voting for "Stop" by the Spice Girls and tell them you're name and where you're from. And vote as much as you're little fingers will let you! Also, go to VH1 and TOTP and vote for the Spice Girls! Keep the Spice vibe alive!
Connection Section
These are lists of places where you can send your letters to. Basically, tell them about the WWSD and how serious we are, and DEMAND them to have a more positive approach to the Spices whether its printing articles about them, or airing shows about them, but try to BE NICE about it cos when big-shot companies receive nasty letters, they just simply delete them. Please email me if you would like to contribute more addresses.
