August 14, 1999:
Well unfortunately friday the 13th turned out to be a very unlucky day for Scott. He was jailed on the 13th, a month after he was hospitalized for a drug overdose which i was not aware of...and its pretty scary. He's due in court Sept. 5. On thursday, STP performed at the Las Vegas House of Blues. You can read the rest of the article at Sonicnet.com.
June 19, 1999:
The new STP album is almost done. All the songs are written, i think they still want to do more mixing with a producer though...they hope to have the album out in early November.
June 8, 1999:
Just to let you all know, Scott violated his probation by not taking a drug test. According to the judge, one more screw up and it's one year of jail time for him.
June 5, 1999:
Weiland is unfortunately in a bit of trouble again. He admitted to violating his probation in court yesterday. The Impact drug-rehab center said Scott had been discharged April 16 for "failing to comply with the program."
The exact violation is not known, but the center places a lot of restrictions on their patients and Scott did not comply with at least one of them. He appeared in court "wearing a gold-tinted tan suit and looking healthy," acting quiet and cooperative. Judge Fidler ordered Scott to go into a "new program, Exodus, which later will release him to a sober-living program." He also has to pay and produce an anti-drug public service video once he is feeling better. His next progress report is Sept. 10.

May 8, 1999:
There's currently a rumor going around that Scott might be getting married, but the person is unknown. I wasn't even aware that he had definately divorced from Jannina. And, for all of you who are wondering what Scott looks like with his new hair cut, well here you go :
May 3, 1999:
Scott's going to be on the upcoming soundtrack for the movie "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me". He joined the band Big Blue Missile for a cover of the Zombies' hit "Time of the Season."
April 28, 1999:
Scott's been keeping quiet lately, but he will be playing with STP in the near future. A radio station, Krock 92.3, puts together annual concerts called Krock's Dysfunctional Family Picnic. Weiland played last year and this year he is back with the rest of STP on June 11.
April 9, 1999:
STP are currently working on their new album due out in July or August with songs that include "Down," "Heaven to Hotshots" and "Church on Sunday."
April 3, 1999:
There's a small pic of Weiland in the current issue of Spin [May '99] on pg.55. He was seen snowboarding at the Sundance Film Festival "clean and sober." Not only is he working on an album with Limp Bizkit, STP, and the Wonder Girls, but now he is also starting his own record label, Lavish Records. One band he plans to sign is Big Blue Missile. AND...he might make an appearence in a film by director Marc Rocco. Weiland said "it's "Easy Rider" meets "The Hitcher" meets "The Breakfast Club." You think he's got enough to do??
April 1, 1999:
Well, Scott's keeping himself busy. He's currently working on an album in LA with actress/musician Ashley Hamilton, Jay Gordon from Orgy, and former Porno for Pyros member, Martyn LeNoble. They are going under the name of the "Wonder Girls". The album is due out in the fall. Also...STP have turned down Lollapalooza, making the chances of the tour returning this year even slimmer.
March 27, 1999:
Scott's doing good! The judge got a positive report back from Impact House concerning Weiland's condition and progress. His next progress report is due June 4.
March 17, 1999:
Scott and the rest of the Stone Temple Pilots performed for the first time in 2 years and 2 months, yesterday at the Viper Room!!! It was an 80 minute set and even though they have twenty five new songs for the upcoming album, they only played one - "Down". Scott "was dressed in solid black, with sunglasses and a stocking cap that read 'NYPD,' which he later removed to reveal a bright red mohawk." Some of the other songs played were "Crackerman," "Plush," "Interstate Love Song," "Sex Type Thing," and "Trippin' on a Hole in my Paper Heart." He also had this to say about his sobriety: He now gets "wasted vicariously through other people." Lets just hope it stays that way and doesn't go any further.
March 5, 1999:
Weiland hopes to have the new STP album out in the early summer and is even thinking about touring with Limp Bizkit and the Foo Fighters. The album may include some acoustic material, but will mostly be like their early work.
February 16, 1999:
Weiland pleaded guilty to the drug charges against him from the arrest in New York during the summer. As a result he gets no jail time, but will be sent to Rikers Island for 30 days if he gets in trouble any time during the next year. The judge had some harsh words for him, but Weiland came out of the court room smiling. It's said that he now has 20 songs with STP and hopes to tour during the summer (possibly with Limp Bizkit and the Foo Fighters). And...Scott's girlfriend, by the way, is Mary Forsberg, who was by his side in court.
February 13, 1999:
Weiland was on MTV News 1515 today with Fred Durst. They were just talking about Limp Bizkit's new album and the work they were doing together. Scott was looking really really healthy and happy. Unfortunately, I couldn't see his new haircut b/c of the NYPD cap he was wearing.
February 10, 1999:
Just a little bit of info -- as you all may know, Weiland is working with Fred Durst on Limp Bizkit's next album. One song, "Nobody Like You", was originally supposed to feature John Davis and Durst, but Weiland was included as well after he suggested they "all just go into the vocal booth and freak it."
January 24, 1999:
Weiland had his court hearing on the 22nd, and was granted yet another continuance for February 16. This is for the charges against him for the drug possesion in New York on June 1. Weiland was not at this hearing, but Judge Ross said he needs to be there on Feb. 16 and that the case needs to be resolved then. Scott's attorney, Robert Kalina, said he was hopeful and that Weiland was doing "wonderfully".
January 21, 1999:
Weiland got away with a slap on the wrist yesterday and was said to be misty eyed when he heard the final decision. He was warned though that he wasn't going to be cut any slack in the future and any furthur probation violations would lead to at least one year in jail :( It's still not exactly clear what he did wrong. He did have support in the courtroom from his parents, friend and girlfriend. I don't know if you can really tell in this pic, but if you look closely you can see he's got some new mohawk haircut going on.
January 20, 1999:
Weiland went to court today for his arrest five days ago. "L.A. County Sheriff's Department said the singer was taken into custody for failing to provide a urine sample. "He didn't provide [the urine sample] to his probation officer and the judge became aware of the failure and remanded him into custody," Gonzalez said. Gibbons (spokesperson for the L.A. County District Attorney's office) would not verify that the failure to provide the sample led to the singer's jailing." One of Weiland's close friends said he has been "working really, really hard at being clean and doing his program. You can really see the difference. He's been doing everything to a 'T'." He was arrested while in court and trying to gain back his driving privelages.
January 19, 1999:
Weiland has been arrested yet again for probation violation on Jan. 15. It is not yet known what he did, but it was not for posession of any controled substances. "The singer is currently being held without bail in Los Angeles County Jail. He is due to reappear in Los Angeles Superior Court on Jan. 20. He also has a Manhattan Criminal Court date on Jan. 22 for an unrelated heroin charge; however, Weiland is not required to appear in person."
January 13, 1999:
There's a picture of STP in the current issue of Rolling Stone and it confirms that Weiland has reunited with them and they plan to have an album out this year and tour in the summer.
January 2, 1999:
There is a picture and a sentence or two about Weiland in the lastest issue of People as part of a
year in Review thing.
AND....i feel really retarded for not finding out this news sooner. I'm really really
sorry and you probably already know about it, but it's been said (by fred durst himself) that
Weiland may very possibly appear on the next Limp Bizkit album due out in April 1999. Durst is
looking to Weilands help for vocal coaching because he thinks Scott has a great medolic/musical
sense. If you haven't yet read the full article it's from Mtv.
December 10, 1998:
This is just a rumor. Some radio station said that the new STP album should be out this summer and the band was planning to give a concert in January, but they decided not to.
December 9, 1998:
STP has gotten back together and they are just experimenting right now to see how it all works out. It's unclear whether anything they are currently doing will actually appear on an album.
Scott was excused from his NY court appearence because he lives in California. His lawyers will be present though and they plan to give a plea bargain.
December 6, 1998:
There is a small pic of Weiland in the December24/January 7 double issue of Rolling Stone on pg. 88
November 6, 1998:
Ok. Scott made his court date on Nov. 5 in NYC -- Yeah!! The court granted Weiland a continuance until December 10. His lawyers are also trying to work out a deal and possibly make a plea bargain. If the lawyers can agree on something it'll be announced to the court, if they can't then they will have to proceed with a trial.
November 4, 1998:
Okay guys and gals, according to SonicNet Scott has already finished his 90 day rehab thing and he has even been there longer than needed -- bravo! [: His lawyer, Bob Kalina, says that "He's been sober and wonderful, and he will be here.[NY]" Kalina says that they will probably "ask for a continuance at Wednesday's hearing and that Weiland will not make a plea at that time." And in case you have forgotten he is going to court for drug possession and trespassing that occured on June 1.
October 10, 1998 :
There are some pics and articles on Weiland in the Nov. 1998 issue of Hit Parader (with Kiss on the cover).
September 19, 1998 :
I don't how true this bit of info is, so don't hold me to it. Supposedly Scott is now out of rehab and on probation...which means that he should be recording with STP. Now I don't know how he couldn't be in rehab since he was put there under court order...but if anyone would be able to get out of situations like this it would be him. Anyway...thats all I know about it so if you have any info to add please email me and if you have any opinions post it on the message board, thanks :)
August 24, 1998 :
There are some small pictures of Weiland in the September issue of US, Spin, and Rolling Stone (Sept. 3). I should have the pictures up on the site soon.
August 18, 1998 :
Weiland and the STP boys ready for another album? Even though Scott is in the middle of another one of his battles with his addiction another STP album is said to be in the works. Weiland recently met with STP guitarist Dean DeLeo and drummer Eric Kretz, to discuss plans for their fourth LP.
August 12, 1998 :
Today was Weiland's rescheduled LA court date for the previous one he missed in early July. It was noted by people in the court room that Weiland was looking healthier, clean-cut and more alert than he has been in prior weeks. He faced up to 3 years in jail for drug charges, but instead Superior Court Judge Larry P. Fidler "sentenced [him] to 90 days in a drug rehabilitation center and placed [Weiland] on three years' probation" after Scott pleaded guilty. Fidler made it clear that if Weiland left the rehab center for any reason it would be a violation of his probation and he would be sent to jail. Along with this sentence the singer also had to pay $692 in miscellaneous court and probation charges.
"I'm very happy with the judge's decision," Weiland said after the hearing. With encouragement by Nasatir, the singer added, "And I'm going to take full advantage of this."
